Who knows how to deal directly with beer distributors (Anchor beer)
Hi,
I’m trying to get my hands on some Anchor beer (San Francisco). Sometime this year, it stopped being distributed in Canada apparently and is not available anywhere.
Anchor says to contact the local distributor, but I have no idea how to go about that, I can’t even find who it is. I know there’s some pretty involved folks kicking around here? I just want some of their beer, and since driving across the border is out of the question...
Thanks.

I’d call Willow Park Wines and Spirits. They’ll know.

If this is the beer, then the distributor was Sleeman...I'd contact them

FWIW I reached out to a buffy who is a muckymuck with Sleeman. I Will let you know if he replies with anything helpful.
Don't know what a buffy is but is funnier than Buddy so leaving it.

that's interesting news regarding Anchor in general- didn't drink a lot of it, but they always did do a christmas offering- hadn't even thought to look for that this year as I'm trying my best to drink local. that's too bad though

Sleeman kind of screwed up by not including this in their regular distribution network, and instead went through AGLC. The money that they saved on delivery probably didn't make up for the loss of sales, and it cost them the account.
California beermakers are really expensive to bring into Alberta for some reason, so the value wasn't what it should have been. I'm not sure if another rep company will pick them up.

Your use of quotation marks has left my mind in a bit of a “Fog”, but I believe the answer is yes.

Damn I forgot Sleemans bought them. Maybe they’re trying to avoid competing with their other acquisitions up here.
Time to do some digging

Sapporo owns all of them even Wild Rose in Calgary. Maybe try reaching out to the sales department at Wild Rose and see if they can help.
