Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have completely saved this franchise. Unbelievable work.

Remove that awful sequel from the canon now!

Also the post credits scene with Boba killing a fat Bib Fortuna is Jabba’s palace was awesome.

I was also wondering why Boba didn't just circle back to the ship once the jig was up and then help. But it makes sense now, might have been a little awkward reunion there.

A few speculative thoughts on Grogu.

1. We already know his fate from the sequels.
2. Or, he left Luke back to Mando during the shows run and before Ben Solos turn to the darkside.
3. We will get snippets of Grogu through next season.
4. May end up on Dagoba as the hermit jedi.

I was thinking that too. Luke and Bobby just stare at each other for a second and before you know it, chaos.

Or Bob E Fett says, you weren't part of the job, nothing personal, now tell me where Solo is.

Just really love live action Katee and Gina when her gun jammed.

My sense is that chapter is closed, they need to see if the show can survive without the aw factor. His quest is complete, we got the long fairwell.

If they do deal with Grogu, it will probably be a future series, I've said the worst thing that they can do is keep him around to the point where its talking.

Grugu becomes one of the knights of ren, really small dude in a big suit.

Yeah, as soon as I saw the X-Wing it was like oh man its about to go down and it didn't disappoint. Luke's style I think was intentionally reminiscent of his fathers. Not a lot of messing around, just kill kill kill.

Loved that we finally got a loving recreation of the Arquitan Cruiser. including the launching of Tie Fighters.

Loved the Imperial Pilots. "I'm not with him". "The other one one planet is a small price to pay to rid the galaxy of terrorists.". Loved it when he said, I was on the death star, and Cara asks him which one. Great snippet.

Thought Sasha was dead there.

Luke Skywalker: "Talent without training is nothing."

For some reason, that really resonated with me.

Im not up to speed on the timeline of all this and was expecting it to be Rey. I guess it is easier to keep a CGI character a secret anyway. I wonder if the actors didn’t even know who it would be???

It was a real actor as the double with Mark Hamill providing the voice and presumably the face before the digital de-aging.

Not flawless for sure, but I don't hate the choice.

I've seen online people simply wanted Sebastian Stan to play young Luke. Guess it depends how many more scenes of Luke we'll get.

Well that was all kinds of awesome. As soon as I saw the X-wing I had a good feeling it was Luke, and then of course the black robe and the green lightsaber gave it away. Also, I may have squealed like a little kid during that entire sequence.

I too was kinda hoping it would be Sebastian Stan when he pulled back his hood, but after watching it a couple of times, I'm cool with the digital de-aging. In fact I think they did a better job on this one compared to Tarkin and Leia in Rogue One. I couldn't tell right away if it was really Mark Hamill's voice, but he's listed in the credits, so obviously it was him. I'm assuming this was probably just a cameo and we likely won't see him again in this series.

Regardless, that was incredibly entertaining and surprising. This show just continues to deliver in so many ways. By far the best Star Wars content since Empire Strikes Back IMO. Can't wait to see what they have in store for S3.

The post-credits sequence was great.

I know it looked a bit clunky but honestly I don’t care. Mark Hamill is Luke Skywalker. I’d rather a clunky CGI Mark than anyone else.

It’s what I wish they did for Solo. A big drawback for me was that I never felt like I was watching Han Solo. Harrison Ford is Han Solo. Anyone else just pulls me out of the movie.

For me it was weird during the first 30 minutes of the movie, but after that I got used to it, and I kinda liked that Alden Ehrenreich incorporated a few of Ford's mannerisms into his performance. That movie was totally unnecessary and it gets a bad rap, but I still enjoyed it.

It was pretty cool watching God Tier Luke waltz through those Dark Troopers. I honestly hate those Dark Troopers as an idea, so hopefully that's the last we see of them.

It will be interesting to see where this goes if they really do diverge from Grogu completely. It's basically freeing creatively, but the whole media franchise seems pretty scared to delve too far from OT characters. I would really like more stories on the periphery of the Universe without any theme park stuff.

As an aside, I hate post credit scenes, I was hoping after the Infinity Stone arc it would die off, but I guess that was too optimistic.

I loved the Dark Troopers, mainly because they were so awesome in video games. They were terrifying in Dark Forces in hard mode. You'd hear their relentless marching and then they would just kill you.

In Empire at War forces of corruption, if you played Empire they would just crush the dirty scumbag rebels.

So I loved seeing them here, and even more seeing Luke cut through them like warm butta.

I thought the Dark Troopers were REALLY well done.

They did a good job building them up. The fear in Mando's voice when he realized they were coming online. The one getting out and abosultely kicking his ass. Saved only by his bescar!

The emotionless march.

The panic.

The fear.

The knowing they were done for, save a miracle.

Moff Gideon's line about Mando struggling with one, now there's a platoon.

Then the lone x-wing casually flying by. Peacefully landing.

Then, a single figure gets out of the X-Wing and cuts through the Dark Troopers like a hot knife cuts through room temperature margerine.

Knowing the power of Mando, his abilities, and his struggle with one Dark Trooper, contrasting with the ease of a Jedi casually eliminating a hord of them really shows the power Luke has.

Fantastic.... I'm gonna watch that sense again right now.

I don’t blame Ehrenreich at all, and I agree that he did a good job under the circumstances. That’s a tough role to take on. It just didn’t work for me, and that’s on me and no one else.

The dialogue at the beginning about all the people who died during the destruction of the two Death Stars immediately reminded me of the scene from Clerks when they talk about the innocent contractors who were tragically killed when the Rebels attacked in ROTJ.
