The Chargers are pretty decent team but they have had some awful coaching/luck this year. I'm assuming they lead the NFL in one score games this year at ten now.

It's mostly awful coaching and that creates bad luck. The Chargers should have a good shot attracting a good coach with Herbert in place, which means they'll hire Anthony Lynn's white doppelganger.

Seems like a stupid idea to kick the field goal on the first drive in OT from the 3 or 4 yard line. You don't win the game so you might as well go for the win on 4th down. Worse case scenario is you don't make it and you pin the other team deep and maybe get a safety.

The biggest reason to go for it is the Chargers probably play for the FG if you don't get it. And we all know how that would end.

Well that will pretty much finish the Raiders. They paid Gruden 100 million and in year 3 they might win 8 games. If the Jets, Browns, or Lions did this, they would be ruthlessly mocked.

There's never been confirmation if Gruden's deal is fully guaranteed, but if it is then he's got at least 4 more seasons before getting fired is possible. Bad contract + poorest owner in the league = maximum job security.

i could see the Chargers hiring a guy like hoodie Jr. Josh McDaniels. I saw an interview with Herbert and he is a big fan of Mcdaniels. Would be a similar type hire as the Norv Tuner hire when they were developing Rivers. Regardless, the Chargers will continue to falter as that is what they do.
