AH! That's where I remember him from. I recognized him immediately but I couldn't remember his name, or what I'd seen him in.

Yeah, Bill Burr has been so awesome. Question for the Council...is there a hell in space religion? I noticed that Bill Burr says "What the Hell" or something similar and it made me think. When watching Bill Burr act, I am always waiting for him to say "Jesus Christ" or other earth swears because that's so ingrained in his style.

Its funny, when you read through the books, it feels like there's billions of planets and trillions of life forms. But all the religions in one way or another go back to the Force in one of many forms.

So in a GFFA, I've never seen a mention of heaven or hell, though in the EU Legends, Jacen Solo pretty much lived in a hell like existence after he was killed. Pretty much its a mass religion around thanking the force for the good things that happen and cursing it for the bad things.

Just waiting for the time when a character says "what a ######" so we can confirm the existence of 80's feminine hygiene products in canon.

Haven't read the thread, due to spoilers, but do I need to be up to date on the movies to enjoy this? The last one I watched was the first one of the new triology - haven't watched the other two, Rogue 1, or Solo. Are those pre-requisites, or can I jump right to this?

Not really, there may be some tidbits that you can see leading up to them, but it doesn't really affect the story. Good general advice is to forget the new movies completely.

I want an entire episode where they go to Bill Burr's home planet.

Just an entire planet of Boston. Chowder Chowdah flowing through the streets!

"Why does everyone here speak like morons?"

Its just BAHston!

Yeah my general mindset has been to be done with Star Wars overall. I have had no desire to dive into the new stuff. I gave it a shot with the first one - but found that it was mediocre and only good relative to the steaming pile of turds that the prequels were.

But I hear so much about how good this is - feels like worth a crack.

No you only really need the original trilogy to enjoy it. It has some carry overs from Clone Wars/Rebels

Heres the thing. The Mandalorian has done something that, in my opinion, no other Star Wars product has done since the originals.

It invites you into a world that you kind of know and love, but it doesnt require you to have an encyclopedic knowledge of that world. They'll throw things in there that superfans will squeal over, but the average, general fan will still be able to follow the story.

And then they tell it. There is something about this show where they make you care about the characters in strange ways but almost instantly. You care about them and their quests and adventures.

Even when I'm bitching about this show I do it with lavish praise. Its brilliant.

Again, its like "Spaghetti Western/Man with no name/monster of the week" but made by people who thought "what if we could do all that...but just better?"

The Sequel Trilogies have no bearing on this story, they take place decades later. (25 years). So we're not likely to see a Ben Solo, or Rey running around. There's always the chance of Luke showing up I guess, but it won't be related to the burning of the Jedi training academy.

We might eventually get some links. I'm still convinced that the Childs blood and building force sensitive clones is related to Palpatine coming back or Snoke.

If you've watched the PT and OT, you should be good, though some characters will show up from Clone Wars/Rebels. Its up to you if you want to watch those or not, but I don't think a person that didn't watch those shows was really effected plot wise with her introduction.

Very few shows consistently get better each episode.

Man Men Mad Men pulled it off. Battlestar Galactica did it for a few seasons. Game of Thrones from season 1-4. Hannibal. There's probably more, but those are all that jump out at me.

Mando is on a role roll so far.

edit: Wow. Spelling. Wow...
