CP Game of the Year 2020

It's that time of year again, the time for the CP brain-trust to come together and decide on our Game of the Year. I was going to give a little more time for Cyberpunk, but that's clearly a mess and I don't think will have a huge impact on people's lists, so let's get this show on the road!

Here is how it works:

List (a maximum) of your top 5 games (in order)

That's all! Your number one ranked game will count for 5 points, your number two for 4 points, and so on. Can't think of 5 games you played? That's alright, even if you only have one or two, list them and get those points out there! At the end of December, the game with the most total points will be crowned CP GOTY.

Just a couple rules for your selection:

1. Games must have been released in the calendar year of 2020. Sure, you may have discovered and played an awesome game from 2015 this year, but unfortunately it can't count
2. Games can be a remake but can not be a remaster or re-release. Final Fantasy VII Remake would count, but Pikmin 3 Deluxe does not.
3. Full expansions do count but DLC packs do not.

I've only played four 2020 games so far. Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin's Creed, Cyberpunk and Doom are all games I will play eventually, and I bet GoT will end up being my favourite game of 2020 when all is said and done, but since I haven't played it I can't rank it.. sooooo

I...have played nothing released this year (unless the WoW xpack Shadowlands counts). Wow.

1) Spiderman: Miles Morales ( The best showcase of next gen IMO)
2) Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Came at the perfect time and the game I spent the most time playing this year)
3) Ghosts of Tsushima (Haven't finished this but can tell it's great)
4) Star Wars Squadrons (Full VR game bumps this up)
5) Astro's Playroom (would be higher if it was longer)

I really want to squeeze Tony Hawk 1&2 in there too though...Disclaimer is I haven't played TLOU2 since I was waiting for PS5 upgrades. Havent played COD: Coldwar, FFVII remake, or Doom: Eternal either.

I'm enjoying it a lot! I haven't finished yet but I didn't know what to throw my fifth spot too, it seems like it will hold as one I really like. It pulls a lot from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Assassin's Creed. Very nice art and getting around the world is fun, decent combat, great puzzles and dungeons. Even the dialogue is good as it aims to put a humorous spin on a lot of the mythology involved.

It's nice that it's an open world game but it isn't SO huge that you're just wandering around aimlessly. Lots to see and explore. While not a technical showcase, it runs flawlessly on PS5. I'm playing it and Valhalla at the same time and it's funny how they're so similar control wise.

I've only played two new games this year and they're both knockouts.

1) Ghost of Tsushima - fluid combat, beautiful scenery, good story.
2) Hades - Easy to pick up and play with minimal time. Surprising depth for what seems to be a simple game. As someone with a newborn at home, this is my current go-to for a quick gaming session.

Cyberpunk 2077 just arrived in the mail for me, but I'm hesitant to try it as I don't have much time right now and the reviews on PS4 have been terrible so far. I'm cautiously optimistic that PS4 Pro might be much better than base but the reviews I've seen are mixed.
