The SCOTUS should rightfully toss this crap right into the garbage bin along with the rest of Trump's cases.

I'd like to see these people that signed on to this explain to their children & grandchildren and how such action aimed at four specific states while ignoring others that elected republican with the same methods respects the electoral process and upholds democracy.
Anything that doesn't start with roughly "because honey, we Republicans are sore losers" is a big, stinking lie.
One day when those kids are grown up they will the tell the awkward and embarrassing story of how their parents/grandparents agreed to an attempt to subvert democracy all for the sake of an under qualified failed businessman with a massive ego that simply couldn't take an L.
At some point down the road all this will be an embarrassing recollection for many of them.

Shocking. Trump still won’t concede though if the money keeps pouring in.

Can you blame them? The Trumps have hit the jackpot! He is going to make more money from the deplorables than in his entire 50 year flipping real estate.

Could anyone write a dumber script to a US presidential election movie than what we have witnessed in the last 2 months. Hopefully this is the end.

Wait guys, it's not over yet. Some jackass Senator is holding a hearing next week where he plans to "probe" the 2020 election. Not surprisingly he's being joined by resident professional bag of s*** Jim Jordan and former Clinton prosecutor Ken Starr.
Not sure what they're trying to accomplish with this other than being total d**kheads, since their hearing is scheduled for Wednesday-- two days after the Electoral College officially votes Biden in as the next POTUS.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/11/polit...ing/index.html
Quote:
The hearing, which has prompted sharp criticism from senators in both parties over concerns that Johnson is peddling in debunked conspiracy theories, is moving ahead despite calls from Democrats that he scrap it.
But Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican who has not yet said if he'll run for reelection in 2022, says his hearing is geared at "trying to restore confidence in the system" and says it is he who is "trying to debunk" questions about "suspicious activities" that occurred in the elections. He also says the hearings will help him decide whether to join House Republicans to challenge the electoral results on the floor in January, as he's met with one of those conservatives -- Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan -- to help prepare for next week's hearing.
"If there's an irregularity that can be explained, fine, set that aside because we have to restore confidence in our election system," Johnson told CNN Friday. "And we need to change the laws or enforce laws so this doesn't happen in the future."
|
Quote:
One Republican on his committee, Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, told CNN that he will "probably not" participate in the hearing.
"We have a process in this country, under the Constitution and our judicial system, which should be followed," Romney, the party's 2012 nominee, said on Friday when asked about the hearing. "The idea of trying to change that process or interrupt it is, in my opinion, a grave mistake."
|
Quote:
At a joint session of Congress on January 6 to count the electoral votes, House conservatives plan to object to battleground states' election results. While they have no chance of succeeding at overturning the elections, they need the support of at least one senator to prolong debate. Johnson has not ruled out being that senator.
Asked if he would join the House Republicans, Johnson said it depends on what the testimony at next week's hearing shows. "If there's not a good and satisfactory explanation for this, that's a problem."

Trump demanding the FDA chief to resign or approve the vaccine is I guess the most dangerous thing he's done this week. Just when they were starting to build some trust that they are following due process in approvals and resisting political pressure, Trump has to step in and blow that all away. An approval now will look like a bow to political pressure. A resignation and quick approval will look even worse.
It's absolutely staggering the death toll Trump will leave behind doing things for nothing more than his own gratification. Things like this aren't even political plays, they are just Trump sacrificing lives in hopes of adoration.

^It's ridiculously stupid because all signs pointed to the FDA authorizing the vaccine anyway. I imagine this was his reaction to that threat:

Some people (in here too) seemed to think a conservative SCOTUS would simply overturn the election because Trump said that would happen.
Seems to have worked out well.

I think the reality is the election would have had to have been a much, much closer for that to come into play.
