You'd think at your age you'd have been at more than one wedding.

Tre really had a great draft...Zary plus two more picks (that look good) for a late first rounder

I would have to think the fact that Jarvis is eligible for the WJC next year had an impact here.

Time will tell but I agree! I’m old enough(44) to remember Fata/Tkachuk
But I have been so impressed with the Flames drafting under Tre/Button, it’s been a complete turnaround for this franchise in that department.

Yea, it did not go good for the Flames. 1999 Rico Fata and Daniel Tkaczuk

So the Flames have what, Zary/Pelletier, Kuznetsov and Wolf? Thats plenty of content to invest in for this tournament.

Yes, the Russians haven't confirmed their final roster yet, but it's unlikely that Kuznetsov gets cut.

It’s funny thinking about that day......Tre kept on trading down, some posters kept getting annoyed, yet he ends up picking a very solid prospect and some extra picks. Could turn out to be a fantastic draft for the franchise.

I still think Zary was their #1 guy all along. But I also believe Barron was their #2 option if Zary went during their little trade down scenario. Brilliant work by tree IMO. We got Kuznetsov out of it.

Just finished speaking with both Zary and Pelletier, who found out they made the team early this morning. The coaching staff had their families on FaceTime to deliver the good news. Proud moment for the entire family.

No, Kuznetsov was the Flames 2nd pick (50).
Poirier (72) and Boltmann (80) came from the picks acquired by trading down.

Imagine Boltmann was Benning or Savoie instead. Oh well.

that was the 99 Winnipeg tourney I think so I actually went to many of these games. as mentioned Betts was also on this team
at the time there were no Flames connections on the blueline, but that ended up being a blueline with lots of connections to the Flames and Calgary in general: Regehr, A. Ference, Stuart, other Ference...I remember at the time when watching those guys play that I didn't think Regehr looked like he had NHL chops. so I'm not very good at this

Brendan Parker @BParkerTV
#Flames GM and maybe future game show host Brad Treliving helped Zary & Pelletier pass the time during the two-week quarantine with a little daily trivia challenge.
The subject? Calgary Flames history.
Pelletier got the better of Zary by a single point.
Brendan Parker @BParkerTV
The deciding question was which three players hoisted the Stanley Cup together in 1989?

Tkachuk was and would have been a great player...injuries derailed his career. Fata well, that's a name destined to bust
