Conroy with a goal and an assist to lift the Avs to a 3-1 victory over the Nordiques. Huet with a solid performance - there is no question he has earned the #1 spot in Colorado.
In fact, Jocelyn Thibault was seen hopping into his car after the game while the rest of the team boarded the bus en route to the airport for their next game in Winnipeg. Hmmm.....

Unsung heroes continue to lead the way for Buffalo
Sabres 2 Flames1

Earlier in the week it was the Jed Ortmeyer show, tonight it was backup goalie Curtis Sanford and forwards Shayne Endicott and Jan Hrdina leading the way for Buffalo. The Flames came into the game riding a high having annihilated the Habs the night before, but Looooob played a hunch and went with Sanford who played tremendously in the win, especially in the 2nd period when Buffalo was badly outshot. Alex Steen is back to full health and will return for the next game.

Sabres have made the GM proud by climbing back to even in GF-GA, having been well well in the negative at the turn of the year. Still 10 points out of the playoffs and 5 games below .500 but progress continues (23 games ago we were -31 in goal differential and 12 games below .500 so we are pretty happy lately going +31 in 23 games, even if playoffs are a loooooong shot)

Karma my foot!

Witch hunt is more like it. The Wilds were after blood after Oduya took out Zubrus lastnight. Fortunately Johnny is not hurt too bad and should be back in a few days. Too bad he will miss tomorrow's game against the menacing Blues.

Sean Burke continues to struggle to find is *zone* after his injury. Perhaps he has returned too soon once again.

Huge divisonal game and the Pens forget to show up. Tight game through 2 periods but the Pens were nowhere to be found during the 3rd period. Gerber gets pulled in his 2nd straight start; looks like Kolzig is starting to pull ahead in the race for #1 in pittsburgh.
