I see what you did...

Regards to dual remotes: most of the TCL TV's on Amazon are roku built in. I got my 43" 4K for $299 a while back if it's in your price range.

Unfortunately my streaming device is a PC hooked up to my TV or a video game console so I'm going to have to teach them in person anyway.

Did you end up picking something up?

What's your budget anyways? Some people reporting this to be $98 in store, expires today. Might be worth making some calls to see if there is stock anywhere.

$98 or $198? On the website it says it is closer to two hundred!

I ended up getting them a Roku Express. I don't want to invest too much into something I'm not sure they'll end up liking.

The TV deal would have been something to consider but the nearest Visions is 6 hours away and travel is restricted in Manitoba so that's out of the question.

I said what I said. Site says 198 and people said 98 in store.

Does the Roku require downloaded apps to access content?

Some but they are easy to install. Think Roku app store.

Apple TV vote as well.

Set my mom up with the iPhone-iMac-AppleTV holy trinity in 2013 (2014?), and even when I was out of commission for two+ years she figure out how to connect her own tablet, upgrade phone, and never once mess up all the settings to make everything work. She has the Gen 1 or 2. Even when obtaining a second one a few years ago, I found one at iirc London Drugs for like $90 - not this $200-300 business for the newer ones

We don't talk about the chromecast experiment, or the Windows days. it's not good for my blood pressure to dredge those up
