Meh, i think it's kind of a cool idea. Probably brought a few smiles to the women. I definitly don't think there was any ulterior motive, just a nice guy doing a nice thing.
The world probably needs more people like that.
Props Dion.

Congrats! And kudos for doing something nice for someone else (without being too creepy about it )
I don't know if a food court is the best place, but I guess you're more likely to find people by themselves.

My Valentine's Day was a bit of a disaster. Personally, I'm not a fan of the day, but my g/f is right into it. She has dropped a number of hints in recent weeks about the wonderful feeling you get when receiving "12 long-stem red roses in a vase" at work.
Well, I one-upped her and ordered two dozen...online, at Bloomex.ca. Well, due to some light (by Calgary standards) snow in the GTA, they notified me at the end of the day that they couldn't deliver them - they will be delivered tomorrow.
I'm not too pleased with this. Firstly, she was anxiously awaiting their arrival all day at her place of work. Secondly, I paid a V-Day premium, and a 'morning delivery' premium and didn't receive either. Her colleagues received their flowers - some from online rival, growersdirect.com.
At any rate, she understood the situation but I am still peeved that I paid $120 for a service I didn't receive. What good is a Feb. 15 delivery and why should I have to pay full price for day-old flowers? I even told them she wouldn't be at work tomorrow and they responded they'll be sending them then anyways because they already prepared them. Oh well, rant over.

This happened to me as well, sort of. I went on Tuesday to a flower store downtown here and oredered a bouquet of flowers to be sent to my wife's work. I had not heard all day from here so I knew something was up cause she would have called me and gushed about them. So she got off at 3:00 and I called her and asked how her day was and asked if she got any other presents today. She said no so I called the flower store and they said they went out but they do not know where they are.
I aswell paid extra for a morning delivery and they said we are sorry but we did not know it was a business and we are delivering them first. I said look at the bottom where the address is and it says this is a business!!!
They then offered out of the goodness of there hearts to have them redirected to our house. So I gave them the address and they still did not show up until 8:30 last night!!!
I was so pi$$ed at them.
End rant.

I have to admit, Vday is now one of my most hated holidays.
I got home last night to a half dozen cupcakes from some bakery in town where she had to wait over an hour to get them. After we agreed not to get each other anything. After I wished her a "Happy Hallmark day".
I'm officially in the canine maison.

Cards, choclate and reality tv, my wife is the best, hates all the sappy stuff so no big expectations. Although I'm sure she wouldn't complain if I took her to Paris or something.

Not usually one to care that much for "holidays" that guilt trip you into buying things, but I did get a great V-day gift from my guy yesterday that I thought y'all might appreciate.
Planning on using it tonight against Buffalo.

I am already kind of regretting this choice (I'm sure that it will go over well with her friends!).

Did you end up giving her the scale? Or did you get something else?
If most men gave their significant others a weight scale for Valentine's Day, they would be singing at a much higher octave for at least a week.

It was a pretty good Valentines Day. Gf and I had agreed not to get eachother anything for it, but we still the spent the day together after we got out of school. We watched some wrestling with some friends for a couple hours and that was surprisingly hilarious (especially when a paticularily fat girl practically crushed her opponent who was not able to breathe after being pinned). We then walked down 17th to see if we could find somewhere semi-nice to eat, and got laughed at by a couple hostess's when we informed them we didn't have a reservation. So we decided just to go to her place and ate some Poptarts and Doritos.
Amount of money spent: $0. Good times
