Looking at Bure's time in Calgary ... most of it was before I was involved with Calgarypuck. A lot of us were on Fire On Ice at the time before the merger with Calgarypuck in 2000.
More than 5 members for sure ... it was a pretty busy place. We were way bigger than Calgarypuck when the merger happened.
I grew up as a Canucks/Pavel Bure fan. 2000 Flames forever and Valeri Bure being on the team made me a Flames fan. I was pretty damn sad when Niedermayer was traded to The Flames.
the 2000-2003 Flames were dark for many but for me it was a special time with everyone in Gamethreads and Peter Maher on the radio.
Being a Flames fan was unique and special, albeit really tough if you had Oiler fan friends
The mid to late 90s is when I became a fan. Growing up in a very working class home, I got to go to a few games a year because my friends parents would snag some cheap tickets here and there and take me with them. I had the time of my life in those 11,000 crowds on a Tuesday night vs Carolina.
Iginla made me a fan for life, even before he became a superstar.
The black jersey carries some significant nostalgia because it was the Pedestal jersey that really represents the dark times for me. The horsehead represented... something different I guess.
I'm glad we get to relive that innocent time for me again.

Looks like the Avs have moved away from the Black Helmet and Pants, replacing them with Blue.... I think the Dark jersey looks okay, but the away just doesn't quite fit with the blue pants. I personally would have kept the black pants, I always thought the Avs jerseys were sharp, especially when they went away from the Reebok Edge mess.

If we could add prime Iginla to our current roster I think we would be cup contenders.

Had a rough season due to coaching chaos that was then cut short. Started to perform well in the playoffs, but goaltending wasn’t up to snuff.
Sign a top 6 goalie in free agency, address the need for a good defensive defence man.
...I still see a lot of reason for optimism. This team is really good. Especially with how things are lining up with Bennett at Centre, Dube developing, Lucic finding a role and then filling out the remaining bottom-6 with high quality utility players.
The 2021 Season may just go down as our best since 1989.

I agree, I should have said cup favourites. Add a 90 point 35+ goal tough as nails right winger to our squad and we have one of the most potent offenses in the league.

I think Icethetics got it wrong on this one. I think Mackinnon’s gloves are going to be designated for their reverse retro jersey.
There is no way they go that light of blue for their current set. It doesn’t match at all.

Yeah, they will probably wear blue helmets and pants/shells for the reverse retro nights but I agree, the suggestion that the Avalanche are dropping black while keeping those jerseys is way off. Cale Makar looks like a bear leaguer with that setup.
