I was hoping my PS5 would get to Winnipeg over the weekend and that I could possibly have it tomorrow but my tracking number hasn't been updated since Thursday.

I was able to get the disc version from Cecil so I am no longer in need. Thank you so much!

Thank you to all who helped and offered to sell me a PS5 at cost. SuperMatt, Raekwon, Chemgear, and most of all Cecil Terwilliger!!!!

I absolutely love this community and the support in trying to help me secure one at launch and the various offers to purchase a system at cost is greatly appreciated. Cecil advised the system is out for delivery today and I am so excited to pick it up.

Hopefully Boblobla can get hooked up with a console as well.

You guys all rock and made my month for sure!

I ordered an extra one when I got mine because silentsim was having credit card issues. I got him a disc version and me a digital. It looks like his disc version is out for delivery today while my digital version is still processing. What a bittersweet day this will turn out to be.

This generation unfortunately is best positioned for scalping more than any other in my opinion. There are many people positing about PA5 online that were able to secure multiple orders from various vendors.

I mentioned the mistakes I made like not having an account on all these big box retailer websites and missing the boat on the initial pre orders but I have read about people all over the internet who secured multiple consoles from the various vendors. Covid is also driving up the appeal and desire to have a gaming console

It is good karma for those that sell their spares at cost. I personally would never buy off a scalper because I would just have waited (even though I really really want one). Where I can see it getting tough is purchasing for your kid and missing out. Seeing their eyes light up on Christmas is one of the best feeling you can have as a parent. I can see where spending a few extra bucks to secure that makes sense to some people.

People had been going on and on about the Dualsense.

...but it didn’t lessen the surprise when Astro starts doing some of the stuff it does. Genuinely surprised at how cool this controller is. It feels “new gen”.

PS5 came in today. It’s absurdly large. Almost unreasonably so.

Yep, on one hand I like that the Series X uses basically the same controller and all my old controllers are compatible

on the other hand its nice to have some new tech

The thunderdome is the biggest sister kisser of all time this gen...The PS5 and the X are basically even.

maybe the Japanese are compensating for something?

seems odd its usually the American product that is unreasonably big and the Japanese that is sleek and smaller

Astro Bot really is amazing for a throw in game.

Great way to show off the controller...but also just all the Easter eggs and PLayStation nostalgia is great.

Spider-Man is one hell of a launch title. I have really only got to play a little bit but I am loving it. I am looking forward to upgrading my TV in the new year but sure as hell enjoying this new console regardless.

Anyone having trouble with the PS5 and HDR? I had a Monoprice HDMI 2.0 6x2 Matrix that was doing HDR no problem with my Nvidia Shield TV and the PS5 keeps on saying HDR is not supported whenever I have the switch in the chain. Direct to the TV I have no issues.

My TV is wall mounted so I only have the one cable running up the wall conduit to the TV. I have to use the switch since I have 4 devices to hook up (Nvidia Shield, Nintendo Switch, Cable Box, PS5).

The PS4 Pro was also pretty picky with HDMI switching as I ran into issues with my then Pioneer receiver that had 4K switching despite my Xbox One S at the time running HDR no problem through the same receiver.

Picked up the 3D Pulse Headset from Amazon yesterday and it was delivered yesterday too! Overall it's a great headset. Played Last of Us 2 and I really enjoyed the experience - I'm just at the beginning of the game so there's lots of horse sounds and blizzard sounds.

I will say with regards to the XBox Series X I'm somewhat disappointed. It would have been nice to have a next gen game to try out. But that being said, some of the older games are really running great. I tried Hitman 2 + Legacy and it was a good time. So most of my next-gen console gaming will be previous gen gaming.

I had to make sure my Gamma was set to 2.1 or 2.2 before the PS5 recognized the HDR. something like that I was set to 1.8 but makes sense HDR requires a higher gamma
