The other executive of the two in the article scheduled it a YEAR AGO.
This is a non-story.

Again, it wasn't obvious when the story first broke that the sale was planned a year ago.
There is nothing wrong with people asking, so yes it is a story. It just happened to be a story where the original reporting on it didn't properly cover the whole story and instead resorted to headline tactics in order to generate clickbait.
I don't get why people have such an issue if someone asks about these things. We ask, someone answers, we learn and move on.

Because the original news reports that broke the story never said anything about the sale being planned for in advance, so obviously a lot of people had questions.
Stock fraud is a big deal. People have the right to ask these questions.
Our governments are also pumping a ridiculous amount of money into getting these vaccines. Our money. So yes I care why a higher end in Pfizer would sell stock on the same day that his company goes public with the most important vaccine of our lifetime.

I've been avoiding news for 6 months now because it's mostly depressing. Didn't Bill Gates fund manufacturing for all of the major vaccine candidates so whichever one worked could be rolled out quickly?
Did that change or is that included in the production numbers they are citing?

and we have 56 million doses from Moderna. So it should cover everyone in Canada.

Yes and yesterday (I think, but maybe just over this weekend) his foundation committed a further $70m to help with the costs of distribution and to try to speed things up in terms of overall dissemination.

Paul Offit is the man. If you want one of the smartest people in the country talk about vaccines, that's the guy.

So Moderna is another two shot vaccine, although it sounds like it can be stored in a regular freezer and refrigerated it will last a few weeks days. That should make this one a bit easier to deploy.
Will be interesting to see exactly how many of these vaccines, that Canada pre-odered, make it to Canada by the end of the year.

Looks like it will be way easier to distribute. It only needs to be stored at -20c so it can be stored in a normal freezer.

"You have the ability to maintain it at -20 degrees Celsius, which is essentially a regular freezer temperature at home or medical freezer temperature for up to six months of which up to 30 days can be at a regular refrigerator temperature," Jordan said in an interview on Monday."It's pretty consistent with the medical infrastructure that's used in wholesalers, physician's offices and pharmacies," he added.

Moderna doesn't have the production capabilities of Pfizer (I don't think they've even finished setting up their non-US production yet), so being easier to distribute only really has benefits in the long-term once production catches up to demand. Both of these companies are going to be selling doses as fast as they make them for the foreseeable future.

It sure worked out awfully well for him. He may not have been able to time the stock sale but certainly good for him his company made that announcement last week before Moderna.

Is there anywhere that has mentioned the production capacity for these companies? I thought I had read a few months ago that these company were going to start mass producing prior to any approval so they could hit the ground running. Is the 20 million does that Monderna says will be delivered to the US include that early production or are they sitting on more doses and the 20 million only account a certain percentage (albeit probably the majority).
I am curious if Canada started to receive even 5% of what these companies can produce weekly, how long until we are able move forward with a plan. With each company that we have an agreement with, gets approved, it really does open the door wider.
