I watched that Maher interview with my family. We were looking at each other trying to make sense of what he was saying/getting at. I think it only made sense in his own head. Definitely turnt.

Will he get anything done in office? probably not. But that's not what they need in America right now. They need a frikking break from all the chaos, divisiveness and lies. So many lies.
America needs to heal, and need someone stable that will just send everyone to their rooms to take a timeout, and hopefully usher and mentor in a leader that can carry the torch, and rebuild from the damage Trump did. I believe Biden is that guy, and I believe decades and even centuries down the road, should we still be here, Biden will be viewed as a guy that saved America from a very ugly era.
Normally I identify as more conservative, the Trump presidency changed it all for me, and has definitely moved me a lot farther to the left.
I have barely slept in 4 nights, and for the first time in almost a week, I am almost feeling hope. This video, and silly as it is, finally made me smile.
I finally have faith, that this will end well.

Inside scoop: We won't be needed for Biden to hit 270
Feeling pretty relieved overall

The problem is the democrats were never going to run racist candidate against a racist president. It wouldn’t have mattered if it was Joe or Hillary or Pete or Bernie...45+ percent of the electorate gleefully or held their breath to vote for a racist. If they can do that there is literally nothing that can be done except to grab the youth and strongly solidify that under 35 base and get them participating. That’s why the dems need to embrace AOC and other young hopefuls. But this week won’t really come down to no youth vote...so I don’t think this time round that was the issue. The party United and mobilized voters. They still need to work on it moving forward.
My kids asked who I would have voted (not a citizen yet) and I simply said that for me first hurdle a person or party has to jump is one that is typically easy...do they truly feel that all people are equal? If the answer is no that party/person isn’t getting my vote. They of course knew I would have voted Biden. That made sense to them and they don’t understand how people could vote Trump. The answer is of course the culture in the States is to look out for #1. An easy way to do that is to make some segment of the population worse off than you. This is opposite to the bulk of the western world who look for ways to help and lift people up.

America needs the most boring 4 years of presidency in half a century just to simmer down, get away from politics, bury their heads in the sand a bit and just get back to being hard working citizens.
The reason people have been so riled up is because Trump is a #### disturber and stirs the pot every single day. And that's all people see on TV.
Hopefully COVID passes within a year and people can grow to be totally bored with politics again, while indulging in the highs of gathering and travelling again, and that may help mend bridges some between left and right neighbors over time because everything they were fighting about before will become less relevant/front of mind. Trump often made drama just to stir up his base and made everything feel like a war/battle was being waged between sides. Biden should be the polar opposite, and that's what they need.
Time for Sleepy Joe to give everybody a dose of cough syrup to chill out and get back in touch with their humanity and civility.
