It probably was a penalty, but that was such a crap throw from Jones. If it's anywhere outside like it's supposed to be then it's a score. Even with the double clutch that is a pretty easy throw for a QB of even mediocre skill. But that did nothing to stop my thinking of Jones as the White Jameis. That was a very Jameis game with elite throws, terrible throws, horrible decisions, and devastating turnovers all rolled in to one game.

To me it appears that the officials took that as an opportunity to avoid overtime as I don't think the league in general likes games to go past regulation especially on prime time. I don't know how you can say that's not pass interference when the contact was before the ball arrives. I get that the throw was bad but bad throws aren't a free pass for defenders to run into the receiver before he gets a change to put his hands on the ball.

Regardless of the call, you have to think that at least this half-season demonstrates to the Giants that they can't go with Jones as QB. Other than him, and if Barkley could stay healthy, they have a half decent team, it seems like. This isn't a NYJ situation.

Agreed about Jones, he ruined a good showing by the Giants yesterday. He's so reckless with the ball, and isn't overly accurate either. He's just not franchise QB material, unless something drastically changes in his game going forward

I think he still shows some flashes and I think that fans and even teams are too impatient with young QB's. I also believe it's hard for any young QB's to look really good on bad teams as not every young QB gets placed in a situation Mahomes did and I still believe if he was drafted by a perennial bad team like the Jets we aren't talking about him today as best in the league or MVP. There is some skill there and it's a matter of his bad habits being coached out of him. I don't think he's got elite potential but if he can improve his accuracy and cut down on the turnovers he could be a solid NFL starter. The reality is that there's less than 10 elite QB's in the league so if you have a decent mid-range starter that's not a bad place to be as things could be a lot worse. The 49ers just made the Super Bowl with a QB I would consider bottom 1/3 in the league so you can still win with a non-Elite QB if you build your team the right way.

The Giants replaced Eli Manning with Eli Manning if he wasn't a Hall of Famer.

Does getting a hand down plus one foot equal being in bounds? I would think one foot plus hand = two feet.

Boy Rogers looked like prime Aaron Rogers last night. Made some beautiful throws and we even saw him smiling and having fun.

Rogers looked good against a bad SF team. He still has minimal weapons and I don't understand how they could not get Fuller at the deadline. Rogers will be gone next year and GB only has to look in the mirror as to who is to blame.

If they let Rodgers go next year, they will be bottom of the division pretty quickly. Their defence is looking like the Dom Capers defense of recent years, cant get off the field. Rodgers covers a lot of warts on this team. Not betting on Love following the Favre/Rodgers line of Hall of Fame QB's.

The Seahawks have awarded a multiyear contract extension to head coach Pete Carroll, all but ensuring he will coach nowhere else and finish his decorated career in Seattle, league sources told ESPN.
Although no one in the Seahawks organization has confirmed the extension, one source told ESPN that the belief is the deal will tie Carroll to Seattle through the 2025 season, when he will be 74 years old.

Carroll replaced Parcells in NE, and was replaced by Belichick. That’s quite a trio.

As much as I hate the Seahawks, man DK Metcalfe is the man! Great story about him on NFL countdown.

That Seattle defense. The Hawks aren't going to go far in the playoffs with a defense this bad.
