My guess is they want one of these purposely spoiled ballots to slip through so they can cry foul and toss out a whole batch of ballots. Does anyone rely on Daily Beast? I havent been there often enough to vouch for their credibility.

Philly had a big street party today to support counting the vote. This is probably the highlight:

I don't read Daily Beast all that often, but they have broken some stories before IIRC.

I feel bad for the one Republican dude on CNN. I don't agree with a lot of what he is saying but man that sounds like a difficult spot to be in.

Is there any possibility of flipping the GA senate seat? It's 48 Dem, 50 Rep.

Unless they change their law.

I've had the dregs of a bottle of Maker's Mark bourbon sitting in a cupboard for months. I've finally poured it so that I can enjoy it while the votes that should give Biden the election trickle in.

I expect it will be the last bourbon I have for a while, for the simple reason that Kentucky - which voted overwhelmingly for Trump and McConnell - can go straight to hell.

Cheers all.

Because 2020:

In how many states would the people that died or are incapacitated due to covid been enough to win Trump the state?

Technically, every state does. Originally, every elector was appointed by the legislature. They then each created a statute that delegated that authority to the electorate, in the form of elections like this one. Technically, any one of them could take it back, and just send whatever electors they want.

How do I know this? I just flipped over to Fox News and saw their guest, a legal expert, explaining it. So if I'm wrong, it's because that's my source.

Specifically, he said that if by December 14 the election isn't "decided", that this will get "messy", and the above could take place. What he and the host agreed was meant by the election not being "decided" was if it's still tied up in litigation.

Fox is definitely going to be pushing this narrative now - "screw the Pennsylvania vote counts, we're just going to send 20 Trump electors to congress in January regardless of what the totals say." Now, to be clear, I'm not saying that this is necessarily what the Pennsylvania state legislature is going to do - I have a feeling some of them might be literally crucified by their constituents if they allowed that - but it sure looks to be what the Trump team is going to be calling for, and his supporters will probably be all for it as well. So prepare for that ugliness.

The parties select their own electors so if you fail to find 20 reliable people that is on the party.

I’m not sure you can change those laws post election and if you could wouldn’t the governor have veto

Yes, in fact there's a possibility of flipping BOTH Georgia Senate seats.

Georgia's system has it so that if no candidate wins 50% or more of the vote, then it heads to a runoff in january with just the top 2 vote getters. Currently both the regular senate election and the special election (read, 2 Senate seats currently being voted on) are trending towards runoffs.

With the balance of the Senate resting on these two seats you can bet that both parties would then throw all the money they possibly could at it, so would make for a crazy January.

I've actually been getting a bit anxious when I see live shots of Biden waving to crowds as he exits some building and walks to his SUV. Can't be sure what the cult might try to do.
