Happy Flag Day

There was a motion introduced today to may Flag Day a Stat Holiday.

I am not really sure we need a stat for a Flag - why not have more veteran rememberance holidays - IMO.

Could you lump them together into one holiday called rememberence d...err...canada d...ummm...patriot day or something?

dunno if we need it a stat, but I think it's good to recognize, especially after the horse**** holiday that was yesterday

however we in Nova Scotia have the fewest stat holidays in Canada, so one in Feb would be nice (there is talk of Joe Howe day on the 3rd Monday of February)

It is funny that the Maple Leaf became the national symbol, considering there are none (except a few tryhard Manitoba maples) on the prairies. Kids grow up in Calgary never seeing a real maple leaf. The irony is that if you travel abroad to places like London, Cape Town, or Sydney there are maple leaves all over the place from the trees planted in the 19th century and onward.
