BBC is projecting biden wins 270 to 267 if Trump wins PA and Biden wins WA and MI with the absentee ballots in those states being the difference.

If you are in line you still have the right to vote regardless when polls close. They must issue you a preliminary vote.

This is terrifyingly inconclusive.

I’m having a hard time seeing his path here now. It’s possible Arizona is only state that flips.

My understanding is that Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania all count their mail in and absentee last, which are expected to heavily favour Biden. The so called Red Mirage at the end of today. We’ll see what happens. Very tense.

I have given up all hope of a better tomorrow.
The worst thing about that is, it is heartfelt. I mean it.

Yeah this is super depressing, honestly.
Worse than 2016 because you bought into the idea that some faith in humanity might be restored today, and that (most) people learned their lesson.
Apparently 60 million people are just that deluded and think this is some game, where putting a lunatic in that chair for 8 years will have no consequences.
Think again.
Think I'm cutting any and all TV watching related to politics out of my life for a while if this holds. I'm not going through that again. All the skits and rants on TV were funny because it felt like a stupid mistake society made and we were going to rectify it today and be able to look back and laugh at this buffoon that was somehow elected once. That's what made it funny, because it felt like such a ridiculous surreal time that was a one off because humanity played with fire, got burned but then promptly smartened up because it was absurd.
Christ.

Those are going to have to be some big numbers. Fingers crossed.
It’s ironic that Biden won the nomination, the most bland candidate imaginable, primarily on the basis that he performed better against Trump in all polls. And as we have learned again, the polls are worthless and the whole premise for his nomination was flawed.

From what ive read those ballots are being counted up and reported in the numbers now there isnt much space for error.

Looking at the margins, even with the reality that the remaining votes will be heavily democratic, I think Trump has this won.

Wayne county is still only 43% counted. Between there and Oakland County to the north, there are a lot of potential votes to make up a couple hundred thousand votes. Both are solidly blue.
Michigan is going to be tight.
Milwaukee is still only 40% counted and can put Biden ahead in Wisconsin.
Pennsylvania is going to be tough though. Philly is very blue and is only 50% counted. Pittsburgh is only 70% counted and will help close the gap a little, but it might be too little.
When absentee and mail ballots are counted can be a game changer. I have given up trying to remember which states do it when though.
Really though, listening to Trump tonight, it might not even matter at this point.

Actually, it's really not, and you're not helping anything by saying what you're saying.

The margin in Wisconsin is tightening enormously. Down to 3.2% in favour of Trump with the majority of Milwaukee still to come.
Reminder: if Biden takes Wisconsin and Georgia, he's got it.

It's late so I may have botched this...but using the New York Times' metrics for votes cast at time of posting and expected final votes, here's what Biden needs:
Georgia
410,000 votes outstanding. Biden needs 63% of them.
Michigan
1,590,000 votes outstanding. Biden needs 60% of them.
North Carolina
287,000 votes outstanding. Biden needs 64% of them.
Pennsylvania
1,870,000 votes outstanding. Biden needs 69% of them.
Wisconsin
650,000 votes outstanding. Biden needs 60% of them.
