I think it's also because a lot of the ppl who left those socialist latin countries were the ultra rich conservative people that got driven out by the socialist masses. They've always been conservative, it's just a question of if they hold their nose and vote with a good chunk of folks who are racist against them or against their fiscal instincts.

Central Americans are very much conservative, and once they get into the USA they spend a great deal of time making sure their counterparts from their home countries don't get in and have the same opportunities. Ironically, the border security message resonates with a lot of those voters. It's really a strange phenomena.

Cubans and Venezuelans aren’t scared of socialism, they’re scared of communism. And they’re not wrong to be afraid of it.
There’s also been misinformation campaigns on Facebook and Twitter specifically aimed at convincing Latino folks that Biden is a communist.

Well they couldn’t vote for a better Dictator could they? Brutal.
Trumps crap on people is the common denominator I’m seeing unless your completely kissing his ass and even then, one miss step and your kicked to the curb.
If the unpopular vote electoral college carries this melting hippo through the finish line again good luck America.

BS. John King is the MVP for the night. and kudos for CNN not jumping to their other talking heads.

I’m not sure it’s trump being smart so much as a lot of Americans being stupid.

We'll see, but I would note that if you're going by the RealClearPolitics polling average, it actually had Trump winning NC by 0.2%. So pretty much a toss-up.
Either way, North Carolina and Ohio are a lost cause, and the election depends very heavily on Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

No kidding. House Republicans especially are positively virulent at this point.

In General the Florida counties that went for Trump are 99% reported and the ones that went for Biden are 94% reported. Trump will still likely win Florida, but it will tighten allot, we should consider Biden was only favored by 1.5% there and its looking like it could be a 2% polling error. Trump need a minimum 4-5% polling error to have a chance, he is still in very tight, especially if Biden can hold onto the narrow lead in NC, considering there was an expected red mirage Bidens leads should generally be his to loose even if it looks like he is losing them later in the night. There is still room for positivity right now.

Yeah there is alot of FYIGM and NIMBY in minority communities unfortunately. The Democrats have trouble coalescing this coalition. Only Obama could. Biden might need to win a different way

According to the AP, he's actually up by 25k and still 30% to come. That race is over. Now just a question of what the margin is.

Ohio's remaining vote is pretty solidly urban and heavily Democrat. I have hope for Ohio. Lord knows I need hope from somewhere already.

That’s kind of racist no? It paints the assumption most Latinos are uneducated. I live in Alberta so I cannot speak to things in the states. However anecdotally Many of my Hispanic friends are surprisingly Trump friendly. Mainly because a lot of legal migrants blame illegal immigrants for negative personas attached to them.
