Default Tribute to Joe coming up.....

Anyone reading this in the next few minutes should turn on Global news. Apparantly there will be two tributes to Joe sports at 11:30.

I wish I could see it, but I doubt they'll show it on Global News in Vancouver

Personally I thought Global would be more taken aback by this. Maybe they were just trying to stay professional, but the fact that it wasn't until 11:30, and Linda Olsen seemed kind of indifferent to the news kind of seemed wierd to me. I'm sure they were just trying to be professional though. grant's tribute was very well done.

Well, they did spend somewhere between 6 to 10 minutes of the main 6:00 news to devote to Joe; and the prime portion as well. (It was before any comercials in the news.)

Usually by 6:30 they are repeating the old news, but they still had new stuff to report until 6:40.

Boy did Gerry Forbes take the news hard. He was talking about him this morning and broke down on air.

They did a nice little tribute to him on City-TV as well this morning, as Joe was an A-Channel employee for a while.

Best tribute of all was the Fan's entire afternoon & extended evening spent talking about Joe and playing clips of some of his better takes. Loved watching the tribute to him by Pollock on Global, it'd been forever since Sports Night and I forgot how much I'd missed watching him rag on his guests and co-anchors/hosts.

Rob Kerr sounded pretty choked yesterday (understandably). Its amazing how many people called in talking about how Joe supported high school sports.
