By the highlight package it sure seems like he runs the powerplay good and has a nice shot from the point.

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson

I'm very optimistic with this offseason. Seems like they are wanting the kids to earn their spot competing with guys they signed with a high GAF meter.

So.. Erik Gustafsson-Lite.

Look out NHL, we comin..

(I will say this is about as well as one can do with a handful of 700K signings, I just wish we could aim higher)

He always stood out to me when he was with Tampa, in a good way, I think this could be a sneaky good signing if he’s given the chance to get some good minutes in.

At a minimum contract, this is absolutely an excellent signing, from all that I have read about the guy.

Thank god. Just trust the guy to let you know what side he plays on. I am so glad that the gm is rolling the dice on good bets like Dube, Mangi and Jusso!
I like how our 3rd pairing guy is an olympic gold medal winner and former Captian of a Khl team.

Other than signing some ptos I think this is the roster going into camp. I would be very surprised if there was a trade. Think they made the 4th line better. I think they made the d better but that might be wishful thinking. They made the goaltending better. They have made some good improvements but I’m still not sold on the top 6 come playoff time.

While I am big fan of Hanifin, trading him for a great return of futures and signing a Hoffman type player for a 3 year or less deal with his cap space is a good use of assets.

And Hanifin could be traded for futures.

I think that you give hanifin another year leaving 3 left on the deal. The top 4 is talented (without gio if he declines). He could really go off and be the top pick on an awesome contract

Whenever the Flames sign someone, immediately folks respond: Oh must be another deal coming. I wonder what percentage of times another deal actually lands in relation.
Haha not a criticism just an observation.

The obsession with trading Hanifin is getting a bit much.

Hopefully platooning with Kylington on the right side of the bottom pairing?

I have no interest in trading Hanifin if the net gain is Hoffman.

No thanks.

Having said that if we traded him for a RS winger who can slot into the top 6, yes I would be interested.

What I like about this signing is we have picked up another player from a winning organization. Too many of our players lack experience when it comes to going all in. Not enough players making sacrifices during the last playoffs; it was just a handful of guys. Seems like Treliving picked up on that. This is one of the reasons I am happy Jankowski is no longer with the team, he won't get away with that type of play on the Pens. Now if we can just get more guys on board!

agreed, I think Hanifin has trade value and plays a position of abundance, but the return has to be legit, and Hoffman... is not legit.

I like the current look of this team. I have a feeling Dube is just waiting to break out. I’d prefer to look in the room at him and Mangi rather than aged veterans.

I think Tkachuk still has another level in him to reach, and expect big things from him next season.

Let Hanifin Andersson and Valimaki develope.

Don’t worry. By the 5th game of the season they’ll be back to trading Bennett.
