Imagine being totally unqualified and still winning two presidential elections with the "but his/her emails" tactic

It's more about causing distrust in the results rather than influencing the votes. Honestly, I think Trump is the only candidate that would benefit from the interference, and even more so by the FBI making it public. It also seems likely that it serves Iran's interests to cause as much doubt as they can on a Biden win. Trump generously let Iran out of their nuclear development restrictions that Biden helped implement when he was in the Obama administration after all.

It’s weird that I had to think for a second if the FBI was acting in good faith.
That’s how low we’ve sunk. I had to actually wonder if the fbi director is in Trump’s pocket and whether his news conference is in the interest for public safety or to help Trump’s campaign.
Trump has managed to erode what little faith was left that truth is still a thing with any government official. It’s hard to keep track at this point what is partisan hackery and what isn’t. It’s crazy.

And further to my post about the lack of faith in government, I can barely trust media anymore.
Instead of paying journalists to uncover the truth, they all just quote the story from other “news” sources and then include quotes from corrupt politicians. They don’t even care if what they’re reporting is true or not, they just know that if they put “scandal” and “Biden” in the headline, they’ll get page views.
Snopes is still the best source I’ve read so far on the Hunter Biden issue. SNOPES!!!

I mean how can you deny the journalistic integrity of the New York Post or Daily Mail?

It's actually embarrassing they're going with emails again. At least freshen it up with some TikToks they found or some texts or even a carrier pigeon. But the same ####ing textbook from last time? This is why the Apprentice got cancelled.

So are you saying that these sources are lying about this guy confirming the emails? Or are you saying that the guy is lying? I can't keep up.

They said they'd be going on the same platform from 2016, so they are sticking with what works!

It's the same thing though, trash from New York versus an option with marginally more potential from Pennsylvania.

There are none because no main outsets are reporting on it.
It’s absolutely fascinating to me that people aggressively put Biden up on some kind of untouchable pedestal of righteousness and allow no negative discussion to happen. I understand that an election is right around the corner and the stakes are high, but the speed of which a lot of you jump on someone who posts something even remotely negative about Biden or the DNC is incredible. Is the Biden story fake news? Maybe/probably…but I honestly don’t know because like I said, almost zero main US news orgs are reporting on it. They’re all talking about why they’re not reporting on it (see below), but these are all the same outlets that jumped all over the Trump peeing on hookers story FFS so forgive me if I’m side eyeing them with skepticism on their motives. Why not just debunk it in hilarious and humiliating fashion rather than getting Twitter to block the sharing of it? Don’t people realize the kind of precedent that sets?
I want Trump to lose in epic fashion too – but the way to do that isn't to shield Biden from any negative press. My God, I even agree with Glenn Greenwald of all people.

I won't believe anything until Pravda reports it. That's when you know something is real.

I hate Trump too, so I get that anything that would portray Biden as negative so close to the election, people are going to be walls up and skeptical. But the hysterical reactions to this are kind of over the top and truly cringe worthy.

I can't wait to watch it. I've been looking forward to it for weeks. Trump is going to pull out every weapon he has. Mic muting be damned.
It has the potential to be great television.

Pretty weak scandal. So Biden made some money off of his son's dealings after he had left office? OK...
The Ukraine stuff is much more damaging, and that's been out there for a while so it's hard to see how this has much of an effect at all, particularly given who he's running against.

Greenwald's been talking about this for a number weeks now, how supposed liberals view Trump as such an existential threat that they're willing to throw away their liberal values to get him out. I don't necessarily have an issue with the whole "ends justify the means" idea in theory, but I do tend to agree with Glenn that if you think that's going to end once liberals regain power, you're likely in for a rude awakening.

Yeah Greenwald's been on this for years. For example, he certainly feels that Obama clamped down on the media and used executive power much worse than Trump ever has.
