Any other team and this signing is barely a blip

Yeah but remember he's 6'5" tall and in person he would look like a big man. He certainly doesn't look like he's ever been a workout warrior but he's played a long time so whatever works I guess.

What does his height have to do with anything? And what does any of what I said have to do with his playing ability?

That's a regular dad bod down here. It's the wine, jack's prime burgers, etc.

Goes to show what an elite talent he is. Get's a lot done on the ice carrying that michelin around.

From Doug Wilson's presser: Tough to tell if a formal contract offer was made by sharks, but wasn't neccessary. He made up his mind to try for a cup.

One area he can really help the Leafs is handling the media. He doesn't give a flying fiddle what people think of him...he will be happy to face that horde and deflect attention off the younger guys.

So he went to the team with longest drought in the League and no indications of improvement?

Toronto is so far from a Cup its laughable. If I were a Hossa-esque Mercenary looking to win a Cup and willing to take a League-Minimum deal I'd be looking hard at Tampa or Colorado....hell...even Dallas.

Toronto? Not unless they've made a Faustian bargain with Bettman.

Slow news week for the NHL, I guess. The Athletic has a bunch of Thornton articles too.

So does everyone shave their body now? Even Thornton with his big ass beard? Am I a weirdo for not doing this?

Do you own a multimillion dollar hillside place in California with an infinity edge pool?

Man he does have a bit of a gut especially when he walks away at the end there. Well that was May, I suspect Joe knows how to get in shape for hockey.
