Hoping his injury is short term. Must be, given they signed him.

If Parsons can find his game at the pro level, his upside is immense.

I still have a good feeling that Parsons makes it to the NHL. He needs to have a good healthy year though

A show me contract? Seems that way. Parsons needs to have a big year.

It would be amazing for Parsons to bounce back and push for a backup spot in 2021/22

With the Flames, yes. He's got a huge amount of potential but it means little if he can't stay healthy. I actually think Tyler is probably two years away at best (unless he totally kills this year at Stockton); if he can put in a full season and show he can play at the AHL level he can earn himself another contract.

Otherwise, he's likely been passed by Zagidulin and Wolf will be knocking on the door soon, ready to huff and puff and blow the house in

It's a shame that Parsons is going to be buried in Kansas City again. There is no way he gets any meaningful playing time on the Heat to prove himself with Domingue, Zagidulin, and Wolf ahead of him.

Wolf is in junior.

If Parsons is going to play in the A, he will have to beat out Zagidulin. That competition should be a good thing for both of them.

Tre said there will be a lot of 3 games in 3 nights scenarios in the AHL next season so having 3 goalies will be important to managing workloads.

I expect all 3 in the AHL.

Daniil Chechelev turns 20 in February and could be nipping at Parson's heels anytime now.

Jacob Markström x 6 years UFA
David Rittich x 1 year UFA
Louis Domingue x 1 year UFA
Artyom Zagidulin x 1 year RFA
Tyler Parsons x 1 year RFA
Daniil Chechelev unsigned
Dustin Wolf x 3 years RFA

Make or break year for Parsons. At least in the Flames system.

His past performances in junior keeps me high on this kid. He has had a rough go with depression and with injuries, but I still believe he has #1 goalie upside in him. Won a Memorial Cup as everyone knows (Tkachuk's teammate), and that was an accomplishment on a stacked team. The following season they had many graduates and the team was really weak, and the way he dragged that team through the playoffs was just amazing. He sort of reminds me of Hasek in a way - just continues trying to stop every puck no matter how many chances the other team gets. Works hard on scrambles and 2nd/3rd opportunities off rebounds. As far as prospects go, I think he is the 'real deal', but some horrible luck since turning pro.

Legitimate starter upside in him. Possibly a REALLY good starter upside in him. I am going to keep my fingers crossed that he manages to stay healthy and takes a big step forward this year.

So it sounds like Parsons was battling concussions and now is feeling back to regular. Hopefully that’s a good sign as I had assumed it was the usual hip/knee/groin stuff that goalies normally have to deal with.

Parsons is still the best drafted goalie prospect we’ve had in years, so it would be nice to see him realize some of that potential...

Does the Sportsnet radio interview link work for anyone? When I click it, it opens the page, but the interview never loads. All the other links on their page work, but not the Parsons interview.
