Why? He's played 225 games over the last three years and scored 182 points...

What is there to hate about the Sens being good? I think those fans deserve some success...

We will see, doesn't sound like many teams were stepping up with an offer like this for him. To me this is a lots of points on a bad team type guy. Decent player but 5 is high to me.
That being said I hope he does well...Would rather him there than a lot of places

Good move for them particularly as they needed to get to the cap floor.

I'm mad. I wanted us to sign this guy.
Treliving is such a bridesmaid.

I still remember cheering for them back in the day when they had a team full of stars cause it’s easy to like teams in the eastern conference.
They had Hossa, Havlat, Alfredsson, Bonk, Yashin, Chara, Redden, Phillips, Salo.
As good as Lalime was in the regular season he could never get them over the hump in the playoffs as I thought they had the makings of a cup winning team.
Fitting that just as they are about to have another cast of star players they switch back to the old logo - which is a beauty IMO. I’ve hated many of their more recent jerseys.

The sens are cyclical. Once their players have established themselves enough to be good Eugene no longer wants to pay them what they're worth, and the cycle begins anew.
^ to the above, that is a notable time period, but even more recently (2017) they had:
Karlsson, Stone, Hoffman, Turris, Brassard, Phaneuf, and Ryan. None of whom still play there.

There's a few comments about how great this deal is for the Senators and how they wish Calgary would have done this.
This deal is very similar to what the Flames did when they signed Hudler.
Crappy team with cap space signing a Tier 3 player with holes in his game who is unlikely to contribute much to a contender in the playoffs.
Be glad that the Flames are in no position to sign Dadanov.

How? The Flames were never in on Dadonov and rightfully so at the price. His game is going to fall off fast now the he isn't glued to Barkov.
Once the Flames sign their RFA's we will be right up against the cap if not over it. Any significant UFA signing will require a trade to move money out.

Top UFA goalie available and top 3 UFA signed just last week
One maybe two teams out of 31 signed a better UFA this year and I would argue Markstrom is #1 in terms of wins and losses
Don't be a "Flames should sign everyone and make every trade or it's a failure" guy

Remember when the Sens had Evgeny Davydov? In the retro sweaters? I like the similarities. I’ll be waiting for them to sign Alex Dayge.

Good term and AAV. I was hoping that Treliving would sign Dadonov to round out the Top6.
