I just read an article minutes ago about how the relationship between Gallagher and the team has soured. How quickly things change (or inaccurate reporting).

			Wow.
 Gallagher
 Toffoli
 Anderson
 Armia

Habs are hogging the RW depth.

That Anderson contract is frightening, but I like the player. If he comes back strong the Habs are going to be a tough out IMO. Especially if Weber and Price are healthy and playing at a high level.

The last two years are not going to be pretty.
Great player now but you have to wonder how many more miles that body can take.

Must have threatened to trade him to Edmonton if they couldn't get a deal done this week.

IMO it’s a “make the POs and don’t go anywhere” team. Very oddly constructed.

Agreed. You aren't going anywhere with those centers. The defense is a fairly pedestrian group. All are solid to good players, but I don't see a real superstar anywhere in there. Weber maybe, but he's getting pretty long in the tooth.

I think that is a garbage team. No superstars, mostly players near or over 30, and capped out. Might be good enough to make the playoffs but probably not.

The Habs are in the worst situation of any of the Canadian teams

They are going to be in cap hell soon, this makes the Allen extension even more bizarre.
Maybe they think they can move Weber or he retires when his salary starts dropping in 21/22.

Made with the philosophy of "make the POs and hope Price steals us the Cup."

I wonder if Joel Armia is available? RHS RW, decent defensively and can move up and down in the lineup.

Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrunAfter the meltdown in talks yesterday morning, Gallagher’s camp and Habs circled back to each other last night and got back on track and get working at it today. Both sides admit there was a misunderstanding which agent Gerry Johansson and GM Marc Bergevin cleared up last night.

 Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
The Gallagher contract includes a modified no-trade and a full no-move clause throughout the deal.

Gallagher is O'Reilly-esque in the fancy stats department. Well deserved, IMO. Not like the Canadiens are attracting many big names on the free market.

Gallagher making $250k less than Johnny with a career high of 54 points.
Gallagher making $1M more than Josh Anderson.

Both are true, Neither makes sense.
