Lindsay Graham, chairmen of the confirmation hearings, is using his position as chair to run a campaign speech, and just finished saying how much he wants her to get the position, and basically slobbered all over her.
Is the chair supposed to be neutral? What a piece of garbage.
Is there anything that is ever neutral in US politics? It is the most partisan system and process in the world.
I thought this article from 538 was a really good inside look in how pollsters have been changing their models since 2016, relevant to several discussions we have here:
In the US journalistic integrity has fallen by the same wayside as democracy.
I think it is a better idea to find good journalists and follow them on Twitter and read their stuff on Substack.
Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi are two that do a really good job.
Matt Tabbi's book Hate Inc is really eye-opening.
If people want to find good journalists, they will. They are out there. Most people love partisan stuff though, and prop up the 'us versus them' narrative.
Just an incredible evisceration of the supreme court by Sen. Whitehouse just now. 80-0 supreme court decisions following dark money influence cases. All 5-4 along party lines. Ouch.
Next up..Sen. Cruz lobbing softballs about family and kids.

This isn't true. Don't confuse on air personalities or opinion writers with journalists. Most journalists are still very good at their jobs and try to present the facts. The reality is that stories are submitted and they get massaged by editors, publishers, producers, and the like. Because these individuals are driven by the bean counters, they tend to take the angle of selecting salacious content that draws in readers over the more in depth and hard hitting stories/reporting. It is a flaw in the new model of the newsroom being a profit center. They used to be a lost leader, but now they have to not only break even, but turn a tidy profit. This is the "Fox Effect" in action.

Taibbi is great. I love his "I don't give a #### who you are" approach to covering issues. He treats everyone and everything the same and really drills into issues.
Greenwald you have to be careful of. He's a bit of a chameleon and will blend in to maintain access. There's a reason he lives outside the US now. I think he thought he was helping out when he worked with Snowden, but there is evidence he didn't do his homework and was a willing stooge to a Russian asset. I liked Greenwald, and he did do and continues to provide some excellent reporting, but he has some serious blindspots that make him susceptible to being hornswoggled.
Agree with your stance on find good journalists and following them though. Twitter isn't the place to do that, but definitely follow their work.

It would have been so much more fun to let them to let it play out a little further and catch them in the act.
That's a little too Hollywood. When those types of things are actually happening there are so many moving parts that someone usually ends up getting hurt or killed. You don't take those chances with Governors or elected representatives. I think they did a good job and setting the trap and catching the prey with enough evidence to cook them. Now it will boil down to if they have the balls to do what is necessary.

Agreed. The FBI should not be making decisions for my entertainment benefit!
Assuming, no one got seriously hurt, it would be a pretty stark image to have a bunch of dressed up Trump supporters invading the Governor's mansion. It might actually make some people really question if that is the side they are on.
Foiled plots don't usually make much of an impact.

Cuomo is saying now that Trump is having 2,000 guests over at the WH tomorrow?! You really gotta question these guests who are agreeing to go, even though masks are mandatory.
Event sponsored by Kool-Aid?

I always like a little snark, can't say I ever really cared about decorum in general. Cable news says nothing of value in a nice way, at least those two talk about substantive issues.
