I saw a tweet shared on Facebook. I didn't recognize the account but Flames are one of three finalists for Hoffman. Take this with a grain of salt.

I really wanted Toffoli if things didn’t work out with Hall, and now it looks like Hoffman is really the only option to bolster our forwards. 29 goals and 59 points in 69 games. Great shooter and a RW which we desperately need. It sounds like some bargains can be had this year and if he can get him for the right price, I think we’d be pretty happy with a move like this. Hopefully his personal issues are overblown.

Hoffman is going to be 31 next month.... best days are probably behind him and another player looking for a retirement contract.... doubt he’ll be cheap so I’m praying it’s a big PASS by the Flames

Simply put, unless he's coming at under a million for some reason, the Flames cannot hope to afford Hoffman without making pretty substantial changes to the roster.

Maybe they will try to trade Ryan and Rittitch to be able to sign Hoffman. I think that's the only way they could do it. I wouldn't do any more than 2 years though.

I would rather have Ryan and Rittich, tbh. Not a fan of Hoffman's trajectory at all... he looks to be on his way sharply down. Way too much reliance on the PP, awful defensively.

I would ok with Hoffman, mostly because he is still a really good skater and has a great shot. His skating ability will allow him to get to areas to score goals.
The rest of his game leaves a bit to be desired, but if you need more goals in the lineup, and who doesn't, Hoffman is your best bet.

Yeah, Hoffman would be great if we could sign him for 1 or 2 years...
But he'll get more than that from someone.

1 x 3.75 is all I’d be interested in Hoffman for and past that just looking at our roster with Kylington and Mangiapane still needing contracts and the trade market being quiet I don’t see how we can add to the forward group past anything like a league min deal to an aging Vet like Marleau or Perry.

Hoffman's shot is insane, skates pretty well also(from youtube scouting). I wouldn't mind him at all, but yeah, a short term deal would be best.
