CapFriendly @CapFriendly
Mike Smith's 1 year deal with the Edmonton #Oilers also includes a full 'No Trade clause'.

Mike Smith getting a NTC is the definition of "unnecessary".
He is his own NTC.

I can't think of any, although I think Barrie has a chance at it next year, that team only cares about offense. And I find it funny that Talbot looked like he was done before he came to Calgary. Calgary likely saved Talbot's career

Chiasson I guess. He is rather McMuffin dependent but he was going PTO to PTO before that. Actually he might again after next year.

I think that in general, careers don’t get rejuvenated all that often. It’s kind of an exception. You could say Talbot was able to do it here.

The oilers put the ntc in there, they want to ensure the tank is in full force!

Dell has probably declined any offers from Edmonton.

Mike Smith is already playing for Edmonton....where is he going to say 'No' to?

Very fair point.

I am happy the Flames focused on Markstrom first. Build from the back out.

I am amongst those who do not think adding Hall while potentially losing Gaudreau makes sense. If anything, the Flames need to ADD to their current forward group. I am also unconvinced that moving Gaudreau would result in enough of a return to both replace and improve upon him. It’s possible, but i think it’s highly unlikely.

Having said this, because he got Markstrom done, Treliving has provided himself the option of a trade to improve the forward situation if so required. Definitely would have been harder to find a goalie through trade had they missed out on Markstrom.

He's tight with Tippett.

We did sign Louis Domingue, who has NHL experience. Aaron Dell would also be an option.

What would be more interesting is if we played waiver roulette in the fall and could pickup someone's waiver exempt third stringer for free.

Nope. I actually work with a guy that went to high school with Tippett and he can confirm.
