Sorry folks, but these are all terrible comments. This thread is about speculation and rumours. Comments were made about a specific player that I had already considered race to be a factor in, as it has been with other players labelled problems like Ho-Sang has. Crown Royal shared his perspective, which made total sense in the context. Trying to discredit it right away by calling it "woke" and "sjw" in pejorative ways is exactly the problem that has led hockey players and many others to step forward and share their stories and what they deal with in society. You don't get to just say you want to ignore it and talk about hockey, it's part of hockey that needs to be eradicated. Furthermore, I come to this board to hear different perspectives and that is what Crown is offering.

What teams do you think are going to be after the next tier of wingers? I wonder if Calgary is done yet, or if they are going to their 'plan B' - assuming that they were in on Hall.

Maybe if we all can just stay on topic.
I wouldn't mind Perry on a short term. He is a character player. He brings some winning intangibles that remind you of Matthew Tkachuk. The teams he is part of keep finding ways to beat the Flames, I think he would be a good influence on some of our younger guys!

The thing I'm concerned about is the teams that were rumored for Hall to start...Boston, Columbus, Nashville and whoever else I'm missing...all didn't get Hall. So they likely circle back on these next tier guys and create a bidding war.
I don't know if Calgary is a preferred destination over these other markets. Maybe Toffoli's familiarity with the Pacific makes him want to sign here? I don't know.
I think we're probably looking at depth signings and then addressing the top 6 through trade.

Like I already said, I largely agree with Crown (and you). I just don't care to have that discussion on CP. It's the same reason I mostly ignore the politics threads, it's not that I don't care about those issues, it's that I have zero interest getting into arguements on a hockey forum.
