And sending Lucic to the AHL doesn't save all that much cap anyway. Plus, IIRC, his NMC prevents him from being sent to the minors.
And of course, with a NMC, it's his choice to stay where he wants. And if the Flames get aggressive with him about waiving it right now, don't be surprised if he chooses not to waive his NMC for expansion.
I'd be kissing Lucic's a$$ and calling it ice cream right now.

Lucic has a high cap hit but is owned very little actual dollars
I used the Sens because they have all the cap space in the world but a cheap owner and have to get to the floor
Lucic would be a perfect for a team like this if not for the NMC. AHL is just a threat (hence the bullet proof glass) but you can't do that so pressbox it is

But its just a terrible move...Gaudreau to Hall on a massive contract with no assets
Keep Gaudreau in that case

I disagree. It might not be ‘ideal’, but it might not be terrible either.
Gaudreau in the playoffs just doesn’t work on this team.
At this point, I’ll take Hall in the playoffs over Gaudreau 10 times out of 10.

From CBJ id look at Foudy or Marchenko for prospects... id also like Bjorkstrand but i doubt they'd trade him... but who knows.

Ottawa will get to the cap floor on their own , they need a little more that $6M to do so, and they only have 7 forwards signed.
Not much of a threat to send someone the AHL when you can't do it without his say so.
Sending him to the press box just means you got to may another $1M or so to replace him. Plus you've just pissed off the guy you need to waive for expansion.

Trading Gaudreau for picks or prospects is not “no assets” though.
At this point, seems like one of the few plausible options to shake up the core of the team. Are you suggesting keep the same group of forwards or something else?

If you're sure you've got Hall, trade Gaudreau for assets.

Hall has had an awesome playoff career lol
Trading Gaudreau for a just singed UFA (likely impossible anyway NMC) would be the stupidest trade in NHL history
Trading Gaudreau for a 7th and then signing Hall would be a better move use your heads guys

Nmc. You need his permission to send to AHL. Have fun.

You missed what we were talking about...he said "the Bruins sign Hall and then we trade Gaudreau for Hall"
IE no assets

Have to think that Hanafin is perhaps a central piece of a trade, based on the rumored offer to NJ this past winter. If I’m Flames management, I’m trying to improve the offense, keeping Johnny, and moving other pieces. Gaudreau is a marquee player, no way he moves unless the offer is outstanding.

Yes, I brought up race. Talking about race isn't the problem. The problem you using the marginalizing term "race card", which I have made pretty clear. When people bring up racial inequality it is not a card, it is not part of some ####ing game; it is a real life struggle that you are blatantly ignoring and marginalizing.

Again, this has ZERO to do with racial equality. This has everything to do with a player who never bought into the team concept, proved to be un-coachable, and had no desire to take on any level of responsibility for his own actions. He was expecting someone to hand him something and then pouted when he found there was rules and expectations to meet to get that $100M in the bank by time he was 35. This is on Ho-Sang. No one else.

Vegas to sign Pietrangelo and Schmidt gets traded 5 mind later.
It's not crazy to think the same may happen with Hall if the signs with the Flames.
Just so weird how quite things have been with Hall. I have never seen something like this before. You randomly hear about teams making offers or "being out" but nothing really official.
