Yeah exactly this.

Multiple reports do have the Jackets, Avs, and Bruins as out on Hall - but it’s not like that’s 100% for certain either, but it’s all we’ve seen so far.

There’s a whole lot of silence burying anything Hall-related since free agency opened.

I love BSD but he's no longer the starter in training. If we can flip him to free up that cap and either use Domingue or a $1M contract on one of the other guys i would be for that from a team standpoint.

We could use a couple mil to bring in help up front (Toffoli, Dadanov or Granlund imo)

I'd love Hall but we're up against it money wise.

If he is still interested though then you find a way to free up that money now!

Because people can't mature?

I want no part of trading Rittich in a condensed schedule situation. We are going to need two good goalies.

Toffoli would be the next Neal or Brouwer in a couple years at that cap hit if he got the term required to actually get him to come here. No thanks. Unless he takes 1x 5.5m it wouldn't be smart to add him imo. Toffoli is garbage compared to hall. It's like saying you can't afford a Ferrari so you spent half of the money on Ford Bronco instead because that's all that was available. I think I would just ride the bus instead in that scenario.

It would all depend who the replacement is, wouldn't it?

Winnipeg is shopping Jack Roslovic for a top 4 LD. Linked to Nate Schmidt as a possible target

https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sp...572708031.html

Quote:
Two sources told the Free Press on Sunday the hockey club is actively in talks regarding restricted free agent forward Jack Roslovic. Winnipeg's target appears to be adding a left-shooting defenceman who could slide into a top-four role along with Josh Morrissey, Neal Pionk and Dylan DeMelo.

Roslovic, 23, has been stuck on the wing in the Jets' bottom six for most of his career so far and has been quietly seeking a change of scenery.

"He's a natural centre but hasn't been able to establish himself at that position. It's very likely he gets moved," a source said, adding GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has spoken to a couple different teams about Roslovic in recent days.

Trading Gaudreau and Ryan seems like such an obvious move for us to do. To free up cap(for a guy like Hall), to give the core the shake up most have wanted, AND give us good future assets. Don't know if BT has the 'cajones' to do it though.

NJ does not need to send a big contract back, Philly would. NJ has lots of good young prospects that won't cost us salary. We can't take big salary back and sign Hall.

Exactly

I love Rittich

But an 8.75m goalie tandem, I don't know if it's the best spend of money.

Consider the context too; young kid probably had been asked that a million times already so he gives a snarky response. Big deal and again overblown, Ho-Sang typically has at least twice as many assists as he does goals if not three times as many through out his career at multiple levels which has to count for something no?

Sure, if you can land a less expensive 1B goalie but I don't see where we find that.

Three way trade then. Ryan to Devils. Gaudreau to Flyers. New Jersey takes the big salary back from Philly and we give NJ some picks to do so.

Haha, true.

I mean really, who here didn't have character issues when they were teens or young adults?

Being professional athletes, there are some pretty high expectations to mature faster than the average person. Some of them are going to lag behind in that respect, but they shouldn't be written off.

If the Isles management has soured on him, maybe change is needed. Or maybe he is just a jerk. I wouldn't mind finding out on short deal. The talent is intriguing and worst case scenario is that you let him go next year.

I think Tre has the “cajones “ to do a deal like that. In a flat cap world I’m not sure other teams want to give up rather big assets and not send any cap space back.

Yet as a pro, 1 incident that I've head of and it was sleeping in.

This is the difference between white players and players of color, white players are given the opportunity to shed their labels of character issues, players of color aren't unless they are elite.

Wait. Calgary gives up Gaudreau, Ryan, and picks and recieves what exactly? I'm not familiar with their prospect pool.
