Vegas is a top market that most players want to go to...so you can give all the credit to the GM bit it's probably the easiest place to do the job.

Give them their due credit.

They’re elite at drafting Hart trophy winning forwards.

They are counting on Klefbom not playing and his whole salary going on LTIR as cap relief.

It probably depends on if he is willing to play next season. I’m sure any conversation he has had with a team, has been based around, are you planning to play next year.

Alex Pietrangelo is on a plane to Las Vegas today -- the kind of visit free agents used to be able to make during the interview window before the signing period opened.
Vegas has really become a bane on my hockey fandom.

Flames are supposed to be at the peak of their rebuild, all the California teams went into the tank at the same time, yet there is the ####ing goddamn Golden Knights just reaping the rewards of being a cup contender right out of the gate that just so happens to also be a "preferred destination" because of climate, location, taxes, contender, etc.

Pietrangelo to Vegas would be upsetting. That stupid franchise started by being gifted an insane amount of talent, and it just keeps coming.

The article on NHL.com also said he was caught off guard by the Krug signing. Maybe Vegas was his plan B all along.

Glad to see some others feel the way I do about Vegas. The love that team gets shown by the media and many fans of other teams is nauseating.

I’m more and more realizing, and being okay with the fact that we’re just a small market team and the only chance we have at success is through building through the draft and clever trades.

Free Agents, we’ll always have to overpay (Tanev at $4.5, Markstrom at $6 vs. Vegas only having to pay $5M for Lehner) and when we do manage to get a big ticket free agent (like Markstrom) we should be pretty stoked, and if there’s any chance we can get Hall we should take it!

It honestly makes the team feel even better. These are our guys, and we’re underdogs by the very nature of our location - bring it the #%** on, Vegas.

Not really a Hamonic fan, but I could see Benning signing him for 2 years, 3 million per year. Good replacement for Tanev.

I can't see anyone signing him for more than a huge pay cut now.
Would be due for a pay cut anyway and the uncertainly if he'll want to play is very risky for any team.

Wouldn't surprise me if he sits the season out.

Man Hall would be so much fun to land here... the games against the Oilers alone would be pure magic.

Hanifin + Ryan + Rittich out for futures, sign Mangiapane, Kylington, Hall and if you can squeeze him in Tomas Nosek on a 1 year deal.

Hall - Monahan - Tkachuk
Gaudreau - Backlund - Lindholm
Mangiapane - Bennett - Dube
Lucic - Nosek - Gawdin/Phillips

Giordano - Andersson
Valimaki - Tanev
Mackey - Kylington
Yelesin

Markstrom
Zagidulin

Ahhh really!! I missed that was really wanting us to flip Ryan and bring him in as the 4th line Center.

Of all the suggestions going on here, plugging Zagidullin in on the NHL team might be the most outrageous. He was mediocre to terrible in the AHL.

Agreed

I'm big on Zagidullin, but he is absolutely not ready to see the NHL ice yet

I dont understand the appeal of Vegas and New York over the rest of the cities. Someone explain. Why as a wealthy athlete do you want to reside in locales that never sleep. One is extremely hot and dry, and full of intoxicated tourists, the other has very high population density and is not fun to try and get around in.

Unless clubbing and gambling is your lifestyle wouldn't you just want a moderate climate and relatively small city so that getting to the rink and airport is a breeze, some place with high quality of life and lower taxes?

We have solutions for 4th line Ruzicka. Phillips, Gawdin, even Zary maybe. They really need to let the kids develop in the NHL. I think its better than the old "over ripening" tree believes in. Sometimes you have kick the chicks out of the nest and off the branch.
