I can’t speak for your experience but Jarome Iginla never considered himself as part of Edmonton. No one who lives in St. Albert says Edmonton.

Even though Edmonton got dissed multiple times today, the delusional idiots they call fans are still certain they have the moves to make that team "something special." Here's the "minor" moves one clown shoe believes is doable.

"Sign Barrie 1 year $4M
Trade Russell for anything with no cap coming back
Trade Larsson to the Leafs for prospects/picks
Sign Petro 7x$8M
Klefbom to LTIR for the season.
Trade Chiasson and picks from Toronto for Kuemper."

Edmonton is no good, as proven by the number of players that turned them down today, but their fans take that festering anal cyst of a city to a new level of no goodness.

I’ve never lived in Airdrie but have lived in Calgary and St. Albert more than twice each. There are many similarities.

This has already distracted from the excellent thread of e=ng.

I would be interested to hear the simarities between a city of 65,000 and a city of 1.4 million (apart from the obvious similarities between all communities in Alberta/Canada/the western world).

Iginla said numerous times he grew up in Edmonton. Yes, st-Albert is a suburb, but people still lump it all together at times.... Depending on the context.

I get it, Edmonton sucks. I wouldn't want to admit it if I were you either.

Holtby, Lundqvist, Markstrom, Crawford, Khudobin, Talbot, and Greiss all say no thanks.

Down to Dell 31, Schneider 34, Howard 36 and the really old guys Smith, Anderson & Miller.

Or make a trade for Fleury, who could be had for free but carries a huge cap hit.

Oilers quickly running out of options in net

If they're smart they trade for Kuemper
If they're not so smart they trade for Fluery
If they're the Oilers, they probably re-sign Smith

Terry obviously didn't get his Turkey bonus from the Oilers organization.
Or it's early seeds planted for pushing Holland out the door for being ineffective.

Kempuer would cost a first, Fleury they need a team to retain because vegas wants it all off the books. Plus Edmonton can't take on the full Fleury cap hit.

I really want them to go for a Fleury type deal just because they will be back at square 1 in a couple season, one if Fleury has a mental breakdown behind that defense.

Reading Oilers forums, seems like the plan is to trade for Bishop after they sign Barrie

Completely delusional. I think what makes it funnier is the GM painted himself into a corner. Doesn't have a 2nd or 3rd to help as a sweetener. If they lose their 1st with what they have, it probably is lottery pick. Only advantage Holland has is his expansion protection list can be done in 1 minute. Seattle will spend more on reviewing the garbage available then Holland will putting it together.

Yeah. and pretty honest, the part about Poolparty was really accurate, whenever I saw highlights of him that had Oiler fans going like OoooOh he's going to be awesome. I saw bad goaltending, bad defensive coverage and wide open Euro Ice surfaces with lots of space. It was literally looking like that beer league game that you and I would play in that had that one college player who thought he should have been in the NHL if it wasn't for his knee injury who shows up and dominates.

Frankly at that level of hockey JP should have dominated, its great that he played in a league that paid him and the other players probably got paid in the season end Pizza Party. But the NHL and AHL are several levels above SM-Liga. They play on the small ice, and the players are faster, better coaches and way more aware.

Maybe Poolparty will bounce back, but I wouldn't count on it, same as Turris, but at least their contracts are cheap, which is weirdly the most positive thing to say about those two.

Losing Klefbom guts their blueline. Like Klefbom was the only do no harm defenseman that the Oilers have. He's steady, he's positionally strong and makes smart decisions. (it says a whole ton that the loss of a 3 or 4 defenseman guts the Oilers blueline)

The same can't be said for Nurse who in his own end borders on awful, and is terrible in his positioning and cover. It seems to be a common theme for the Oilers when they draft players. Is his hockey IQ lacking? Is he a bit of a selfish player? Yup, looks like he checks our boxes, but does he have a youtube stick handling video?

I mean Russell is a "warrior" but he's like a guy who creates his own stats with brutal give aways and lost board battles that force him to heroically dive in front of the puck to clean up his own mistakes. Larsson looks about done, he's been awful for two years, and you don't bounce back from that. Jones and Bear are ok, but a bit over rated, Bear looked pretty bad after the team came back.

Sure they can bring up Bouchard and Boberg or whatever his name is, but Bouchard is more of the same in his own end and the other guy won't be helped by getting rushed.

Goaltending is just going to be bad.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Oilers were at a 70 point pace next year, when Holland is turfed in a breath taking move of backstab maneuvering by Tippett who tried the same thing in Arizona.

Or Tippett does the same thing he did in Arizona when he didn't get his own way. Which is show up, stand behind the bench and read cracked.com articles on his phone.

Its going to be a long bad year for the Oilers next year. Holland has literally been as bad as Chia pet.

And Conna won't stand for it, no sir he won't. Look for teams to start clearing cap space for Conna in the next off season.
