We've needed a #1 goalie for hundreds of years now.
We've missed out on #1 goalies because of acquition costs or them not wanting to come here.
We just got a friggen #1 goalie for only money!! From our rivals no less lololol and he wants to be here.
Absolutely ####ing ecstatic!!! Being 35/36 at the end of the contact makes me not even worried about term.
This is THE move that we've needed. Hell ya Tree!! stoked af.
I can only imagine if he outplays demko. The tkachuk and markstrom angle will be glorious.

I know. Just having a laugh as the first 2 posts I see are on the topic of buyout. All good really; purely a matter of circumstance that I checked in at that time.

Yup, we’ve been the opposite of the Canucks. Luongo, Schneider, Markstrom....
Took one right from under their noses!

While we had another just finished baking.... and then for ####s and giggles we went out and signed a stanley cup and vezina winner.
Whereas the Flames have almost always had that marquee d-man. Macinnis, Bouwmeester, Giordano

We will see how well this ages...our guy was good 3+ years ago doesn't usually hold up well.
Holtby is a bum now

The goalie I wanted at the price and term I believed would get it done.
Between the draft and day 1 of FA, outside of losing Brodie this has been a good start to the off-season for this Flames fan.

If Demko didn't play how he did against Vegas, I think the Canucks would have re signed Markstrom.
Risky move by the Canucks IMO, as Holtby could be poor again and Demko may not be ready.
Of course, they could both play great as well but Vancouver is going in to next season with much more uncertainty in net and a poor defence to boot (as of right now).
I'd be a bit nervous if I was a Canucks fan.

My nephews (5 and 8) just broke the news to me. They're big Canucks fans, but even bigger Markstrom fans since they both like playing goalie.
Is there somewhere I can order 2 kids sized Markstrom Flames t-shirts in a hurry?

I remember between McLean and Luongo when Vancouver was a perennial goalie grave yard....Cloutier from center was the perfect image of that...the Canucks made some structural development changes...and we gifted them Demko by trying to outsmart the hockey world...its funny how these things go in cycles.

Just had to look that up. Goalies are so weird.
30-36, or 1.

Always been a fan of Markstrom since his Florida days. The one thing I am kind of worried about is having Jordan Sigalet as his goalie coach, hopefully he doesn't ruin Markstrom after 2 years here.

If it’s a mojo issue, you let him wear whatever number he wants.

If Freddie Hamilton can wear 25, Markstrom can.

Nieuwendyk was a RFA when he held out.
