I don't think the Flames have the cap space for Hall unless they trade significant salary. Signing a $5 million defenseman eliminates any chance unless they trade Gaudreau for picks and prospects.
I don't think that is necessarily out of the question. I still think the Flames will trade Gaudreau or Monahan at some point.

Pretty much. But Hall wasn't going to sign here to be a #3 LW, so a body will need to be moved to make it work anyway.
NR. Kevan Miller (BOS) // Right-handed defenseman // Age 32 // Missed all of 2019–20
SIGNED by Boston: 1 year x $1 million salary + $1 million perf. bonuses

So, purely hypothetically, assuming Brodie is gone... If Pietrangelo can be convinced to play in Calgary for $8-$8.5M and Hall for $7M... Is it even a theoretical possibility? Who could be traded out to get within the cap?

Gaudreau and Hanifin would clear a huge chunk of the cap space needed to sign those two and fill out the roster. They'd also probably bring back a very nice pile of futures.
You want to sign a cheapish "fringey" top 4 LHD dman though to help ease Valimaki into a top 4 role and guard against the loss of Hanifin. Someone like Mirco Mueller, Derek Forbort or Kulikov perhaps.
Yeah it's weird after getting used to teams being able to talk to players early
It's all COVID, I'm sure. Such an unpredictable market now.
