Best of luck.
Hope Parsons can have a solid season in a tandem with Zagidulin next season.

Good for Jon.
Remember when we were worried he wouldn’t sign here?
Simpler times.

And just like that, flames have no remaining connection to that Providence draft class (jankowski, gillies, gilmour)

With Janko and Gillies both leaving this off season, that puts a wrap on the Flames 2012 entry draft.
All of them gone, only real NHLer among them to this point is Kulak.

The Blues AHL affiliate is now in Springfield, MA, which is pretty close to Providence and not far from his hometown in New Hampshire.

Watch him do a Binnington impression for the Blues.
I still think he would have been a great goalie if not for those hip injuries. Just wasn’t the same after that.

Interesting. Another reclamation project like Binnington?

Hip injuries are truly ruinous for goalies.

something else haha

Something Burke said a long time ago when he was GM with the Leafs that will always stick with me and has proven fairly true - especially after this years UFA goalie class.
When you draft a goalie and develop him, you will be developing him for another team.

If Brodie signs elsewhere, it will leave Backlund, Gaudreau, and Monahan as the only pre-Treliving draft picks in the organization.

With Gillies and Schneider out, look for the Flames to pick up a depth minor leaguer. Hopefully a youngster, because Wolf is several years down the road.

In 2016 I flew back from Penticton after the rookie tournament and sat on the plane between Stepan Falkovsky and Jon Gillies.
It appears my curse is now complete.

Not really several years. He'll be playing pro hockey a year from now, whether it's in the ECHL or AHL.
