Good deal. Good term. Welcome to Calgary. I look forward to watching him in net and not panning the deal before he even puts a Flames sweater on.
I'm thrilled. Absolutely ecstatic.

You just have to remember there's certain posters who are rooting for Treliving to fail more than they are rooting for the Flames to do well

Edmonton is not good either. It stinks. Everyone in Sweden knows that. It was a great occasion.

Very happy with the signing. The failure to find a #1 was the biggest stain on Treliving… although the jury is out on whether he has found a solid HC. I was very nervous when Tree moved back in the draft but I was wrong on that. He did great with the draft. Still a lot to sort out in free agency though. I haven't been a huge fan of Treliving but I hope he can continue his good work this off-season.

Not sure how anyone is upset about a 6x6 for a legit starting goalie. I remember being very frustrated with how good he played against the Flames. Canucks may be in for a rude awakening this year.

Flames just signed the top free agent at his position. This is a great win for the city and franchise. Stealing him from a rival is great and it feels great to have a legit stud starter for the first time since this team decided to rebuild over 7 years ago.

Pumped about this pickup and happy with the contract. It was what I was expecting and didn’t want to go any higher. No problem with the NMC it is the price you pay to get the elite free agent

Markstrom/Rittich is probably one of the better tandems in the league.

Holtby most definitely isnt on Markstrom's level (today) and Demko is very inexperienced still.

I don't get why people don't see this as a good deal.

Even if the term is a year long, the salary is fine. He is an above average goalie.

Kevin Hayes gets $8 million per year and is worthless.

Hopefully this is not another Neal/Brouwer UFA bust for Tre.

Gotta be top 5?

What other teams have an elite number 1 and a decent 1A/B from the past couple seasons?

Huge pickup. What a feeling to have a legit starting goalie, one that will give the young team a ton of confidence.

Debate between this and Jay Bouwmeester as the biggest UFA signings in Flames history?

Not incorrect, but goalies are voodoo. I could see Holtby doing well in Vancouver and my high opinion of Demko is documented.

If he didn't care about a NMC Markstrom would have been back in Vancouver

Super voodoo. Could easily be a bounce back year for Holtby. Will be an interesting year for Vancouver, lots of change.

Well, Markstrom isn’t a 1-dimensional winger with more red flags than a Soviet military parade, so there’s that.

Arizona has to be on any top 5 list of goalie tandems. Both their goalies are top 3 in league save % over the last few seasons and the advanced stats say they aren't being held up by strong team D either.

Rinne is old and has been very sub par recently, and I'm not sold on Columbus tandem either.

The nice thing about elite goaltending is it can cover up for the team not being perfect defensively.

Something the last 7-8 goalies weren't going to do for us outside of a couple months from Rittich.

And I think the Flames are defensively stronger than the Canucks just in terms of players that will commit to both sides of the puck so Markstrom will have an easier time than he has had.

We just need to buff up our offense a bit here and fill out the depth with some savvy signings.

I hope we get a roster signing done before the day is out.

Holtby has been bad for three straight regular seasons...plus he is playing goal for the Canucks minus Tanev

Vs. the Capitals
