Signing Halak is never a bad decision. But he likes playing on the east coast, and he’s not a long term answer at this stage.
Schneider is a goalie with hip issues. That’s about as useful as a blind fighter pilot.
Markstrom’s the best goalie they’ve had since Kiprusoff.

The Flames will have to overpay for Markstrom because looking at the other options, it's not pretty. Going into next season Rittich and another short term solution would be disappointing.

Well, thats the game you play when you go after the tippy top ufa at the hardest position to acquire. No way around it. I want the dollars to be low with 6 years as the term but what can you do? There is now an extremely sizable gap to the next available goalie.
