Rumour from Andy Strickland is Columbus is shopping David Savard.
I’d be okay with that if it’s on the cheap as a cap dump, he’s actually a pretty good defensive dman and would be okay as a short term option if the cost is reasonable.

He has some offensive skills, too. Hasn't had to use them much since Jones and Werenski came into their own. I've always liked him-Big, physical, good passer.

I'd be surprised if they traded him considering they've already moved Murray and Nutivaara today.
I'd rather let Eatbread have one more season to grow or see where Dube is at now. Unless its Hall we don't have space for a winger.
Yeah, that's kind of what I was getting at. I am friends with a guy who coaches locally and did work with an analytics company and he is super high on Dube and he's about as close to an actual expert that I know.
Putting him with Backs and Tkachuk would be great. If not, him with Bennett and Dube...yeah, he's a RW upgrade for sure.
Toffoli is going to get overpaid by a lot, he was overpaid on his last contract. If we can get him for under $4m, I would be fine with it, but I think he gets $5m+ and that's just way too much for what he brings.

IMO he is a 3rd liner on a good team.
Nah, Toffoli is a good 2nd line player. I just don't know why the Flames would need that. He doesn't significantly upgrade on what they have and isn't good enough to replace Gaudreau.
Toffoli is the cheaper top 6 option to Hall and of a handedness that the Flames desperately need. Pair that with that fact that he shared two seasons with Monahan in the OHL and I could see a fit for sure. It would be a scenario I think that would see the Flames hang on to Gaudreau and maybe swing a deal for futures with Hanifin.
I'd be a hell of a lot more worried about Toffoli's contract turning to crap than Hall's. And I say that knowing Hall is going to get a much bigger contract.

So Chris Faber is saying on twitter that the frame work for a deal between Vancouver and Arizona for OEL is done. The only thing left to discuss is which prospect the Canucks are giving up.
Arizona is asking for Hoglander, Podkolzin or Demko. Canucks have said no, maybe you can have Kole Lind. A bad bottom six contract is going back to Arizona. Virtanen is also likely going. And picks are involved, the type of picks depending on what prospect the Canucks send to Arizona. So expect a 1st and/or 2nd rounder when they only get Kole Lind.
Now excuse me, I am going to find a short pier.
