Default Blackhawks will not re-sign Cory Crawford.

It seems that Crawford is going to become a free agent.

Guessing he sits as an FA until camps start and teams see who they might need as a #2.

Could see him being a good fit for Vancouver as a 1b with Demko depending on what his contract demands are.

I think Crawford is a #1 goalie but his concussions are a concern

He's a Mike Smith level Candidate for the Flames. If that makes any sense. 35, maybe good for 2 or 3 more years depending on health.

So are they going to be in the market or do they have someone waiting in the wings?

Bowman said they're going to give the net to their farm kids. Delia and another.

Crawford was apparently offered a one year contract @ $3.5M, he is looking for a longer term. I expect he wants to be in a place where he's the # 1.

Time will tell if he can get either of those things from someone else.

I think he's not a bad choice as a 1A, 1B situation, but his concussions are a concern if the signing teams needs to rely upon him for a full year as a #1.

To me, he'd be a good guy to get for a playoff run in the last year of his contract as a back up in case you need to have someone who could win you a playoff series or two.

He played well down the stretch and in the playoffs this year.

But a big gamble to sign him for more than 1 year and to count on him to be healthy all season.

The Hawks have no one else. Fleury might end up there, if Vegas gives them enough to take that contract.

TBH, Chicago looked like the best fit for Chicago. I'm expecting he got his ego bruised.

I would understand signing a 35-yr old goalie on a decline at the trade deadline as an insurance for a playoff run. But not in summer.
