Woah, what? Wasn't this guy a can't miss prospect a couple years ago?

Edit, just looked at his numbers from last year and they are...ugly. Something's up with the kid.

Feels like an undersell, but at the same time, Lias has apparently been available for a while and has had no takers.

he was a bit of a reach as a top ten pick even in his draft year. Considered a "safe middle six centre" back then.

Classic case of a low ceiling player busting. Never draft low ceiling players.

scored just 3 goals and 9 points in 66 games so far as a Ranger and has been involved in a contract dispute over the last year

still, he's only 21 and has upside

His upside was always questionable in terms of being a producer. Probably a 4th liner in the NHL now.

Yep, went 7th overall but it has been all downhill since then.

9 points in 66 NHL games, 39 points in 74 AHL games, and terrible metrics in general according to Dom Luszcyszyn.

Granted he admitted to be suffering through some personal issues and went back home to Sweden to play. I don't mind this swing for LA.

Actually not a bad deal for LA. Probably about the same risk on taking someone at 60.

Andersson's dad, Niklas, works as an amateur scout for the Kings.

Swedish Lazar, except he also comes across as an immature brat.

No thanks.

Given the number of swedes we have kind of surprised we did not go for this in our trade with the Rangers yesterday.

the crazy thing is that the Rangers could afford to complete whiff on a 7th overall and it doesn't matter at all, with Kaako, Lafreniere and so on.

could turn into a really nice deal for the Kings if Andersson can get back on track.
