Fact remains 2 teams have traded into early 2nd and made the picks they wanted. So its not that teams didn't want to trade lol
Flames "rumored to want to trade up per SN960" failed to do so or didn't actually try and we lost out on some solid pieces so far.

Or didn’t have the right assets. Treliving traded down yesterday because he had a group of players he wanted that would still be available and teams paid accordingly. It was only two or three spots each time, and cost a 3rd This time you think he had assets to move up 10 spots?

Give me a break.
You're acting like Buffalo trading to #34 from #38 is the same as the Flames moving down from #50 to the same spot. I don't think a third rounder gets it done.

Go ahead and look at what the teams that traded up gave, and tell me we have the same value we could have offered. Moving from 50 to 34 is harder than moving from 59 to 44, and certainly way, way harder than moving 38 to 34.
Still lots of good quality players left, I'm not sure what the complaint is other than the idea that the Flames should make moves for the sake of it. As we saw yesterday, they aren't afraid to make moves.

lol are you serious?
Why do rankings exist?
Why bother scouting?
Why even draft?
Where did I say we know for certain who teams are targeting?
What I did say was there were a number of players who were for sure going to go early in the 2nd round (listed those) because the scouts and "insiders" ranked them very highly as impact players.
We all know the draft is a complete crapshoot but certain picks/players give you a better shot. Dont even know why I have to type this out lol....

I guess I just don't understand how we can get so hot and bothered about guys in the early second round.
If you've scouted all these players and would be the equivalent of the OHL scout pounding his fist on the virtual table in the Flames room I get it ... but I'll assume you're just following along on a consensus list and ogling players you haven't really seen (more power to you if that's not the case).
My view has always been I feel more comfortable if the team has a list and is managing it accordingly and not dropping the list to move up because a guy is available that they don't really like, but has dropped and is available.
I swear the Oilers drafted this way in the 90s almost consistently (Riesen, Henrich, Rita)

Most of the guys just selected in this round will not be NHL players.

I can't see Mysak getting past one of Montreal's two 2nd rounders.
Robins or Mysak please!

There always has to be at least one guy in here flipping out like he's some sort of expert draft savant.

IMO this illegal sports stream ad campaign is terrible. All Rogers is doing is informing people that illegal streams are an option

Detroit forget it was their pick?
Edit: LA is going to pick Poirier and Royle is going to lose his mind.
