Because of his injuries the last few years?
Ive seen much more than i need to on Johnnys compete level when it really matters.
Its not even close that Taylor is better.

Unless he has one team (let’s say Philly) and then names 4 teams that don’t need him (TB) or teams (Edmonton) Calgary wouldn’t trade him to.

Won't know until/if we see the contract. The main sticking point had been a NTC/NMC or money to compensate for it. The reason they didn't want to give a movement clause before the expansion draft (there is no issue with one post draft) is to make sure they don't lose a valuable asset for free. This way allows them to move either Demko or Markstrom next season if they feel it is necessary.

If he's playing well there is no reason to be desperate though. Fans really overrate how much just 1 year left on a deal impacts value for elite players.

That’s not the issue, it’s the LNTC if you can’t make the deal. I think Treliving can still get value, just not as much. That clause may as well be a full NTC.

Accounts from yotes fans on the board indicated that Hall led the way for Arizona in the POs.

That certainly was not the case with Johnny.

But I could see the potential for the Johnny and Hall combo doing great things. He could use a new look on that line in terms of a big talent to work off of.

And as I said, the L-NTC doesn't kick in until the equivalent of July 1st, they can trade him at the draft the week or so before the NTC kicks in and he will still have excellent value. Then that team has the option of moving Gaudreau at the deadline if they can't extend him and they'll probably still get a first and a couple seconds.

Is Monahan going to be happy if we trade Gaudreau?

Why would he want to stick around and re-sign here?

That is the ideal 3rd line. Would be a very quick and tenacious line.

I think it will be frightening to see him without Jonny.

You want to look at strictly numbers be my guest.
Im not going to take the time to break down ppg in the last few years as the games played arent even but i imagine they are very close.
The big factor is one of them is one is a leader when the lights shine brightest and the other is a wilting flower.
So ya, that very important detail makes it not even close.

Monahan looked good with Lee Stempniak. I'm sure he'll be fine if it comes to that.

You can’t manage a team worrying about making sure every Tom dick and Harry is happy with all your decisions. He will either get over it. Leave, or we trade him too.

Bigger mistake, to head into next season with the same song and dance knowing the inevitable outcome come round 1.

One of em gets traded, if they resign Markstrom

Dhaliwhal already said they are looking at goalies who would qualify for the expansion draft and going to offer a 2 way deal so that's who they would make available

It truly amazes me how many are clueless to the fact that Monahan has had success without Gaudreau

I'm curious as to your thoughts as to what happens tomorrow. Do we see a major trade? Do we acquire halls rights?
