Although he has not seen the movie, he has called it "degrading" and accused the NHL of "promoting homosexualization of small children" and "becoming a willing partner with the fringe elements of the radicalized homosexual agenda and their ultimate goal of worldwide sexual anarchy."

Christian activist James Hartline, who claims to be a former homosexual.

So much funny right there I don't even know where to begin.

"becoming a willing partner with the fringe elements of the radicalized homosexual agenda and their ultimate goal of worldwide sexual anarchy."

How stupid are these people? "Their goal of worldwide sexual anarchy"??

Depends if I'm at Hefner's Mansion or if Jessica Alba is within 10ft of me.

As per usual, religion is the engine of intolerance. Whenever the religious right stage these kind of protests I cannot help but shake my head at their xenophobic, close minded mentality.

Because all people who are religious are xenophobic and closed-minded? That's a generalization, no? Another form of intolerance?

this is more like the religious right extremists

IF your religious chances are you are right wing as well, but most consider the word of god a personal message, so as long as they personally arent homesexual they see nothing wrong with it and are very tolerant - its the extremists that feel this message should be shoved in everyones face..and the extremists are very few in comparison

Christians not approving of the gay lifestyle is not even close to an extremist mind set.

Perhaps not, but Christians spouting off like that is definitely extreme. There's a difference between not approving of a lifestyle and going on a rant about a movie, spouting off every chance you get about how gays are going to hell and all that jazz.

Thanks for not reading my original post as it allows me another opportunity to post again. Nowhere in my post did I say that "all people who are religious are xenophobic and closed-minded." I do think that those who stage these kind of protests ARE xenophobic and close minded.

Not all religions are xenophobic and close-minded, but most people who are xenophobic and close-minded ARE religious.

You implied it, in this case there is only one person who you could tag "xenophobic" and "close minded" and thats the author of that article, but you used the term "the religious machine" - I think most people are correct in the assesment that you mean't to brand all "religious" people "xenophobic" and "close minded" ....so the advice here is that if you dont want people to take your statement out of context than be specific, instead of coming across as "close minded" and "xenophobic"

Actually, I didn't imply it. You have obviously read more into it than what was written.

I also never used the term "religious machine." I did not intend nor did I brand all "religious" people "xenophobic" or "close minded." I branded the religious right who stage those kinds of protests as xenophobic and close minded. I was specific in my statement as I clearly organized the entire thought into a single sentence which was seperate from the one that preceded it.

reread the quote

Quote:
Although he has not seen the movie, he has called it "degrading" and accused the NHL of "promoting homosexualization of small children" and "becoming a willing partner with the fringe elements of the radicalized homosexual agenda and their ultimate goal of worldwide sexual anarchy."
the whole things stinks of extremist. Not only does he oppose homosexuality, he thinks there is some kind worldwide agenda out to spoil small children.

I guarantee you most religious people dont hold this view, therefore it is extreme

most religious people are tolerant of others - they are ones who are not are extreme...

and no speaking out doesnt label you extreme

Not necessarily, but when you say something like

Although he has not seen the movie, he has called it "degrading" and accused the NHL of "promoting homosexualization of small children" and "becoming a willing partner with the fringe elements of the radicalized homosexual agenda and their ultimate goal of worldwide sexual anarchy."

you are probably a religious extremist and you are definitely an extreme idiot.

I find such irony in the fact that movies like this take such extreme heat, but movies like "Hostel," or "Saw I, II, III" get made depicting people being mutilated, tortured and horribly murdered, and nobody says a peep. Even in the most extreme sects of Christianity, isn't murder still considered the biggest sin of all?
