I like Calgary but if I was athlete rich it would be relatively low on my list as well

So maybe there is more smoke to Johnny to NJ. Palmieri is only one year remaining on his contract so it gives him a good chance to Prove himself if he wants to stay and doesn't lock us into anything too long term. Lindholm, Palmieri, Dube, Mangiapane on the right side sounds pretty stellar to me for next year.

Gaudreau for Palmieri 18th and 20th? Probably a throw in of some kind from Calgary. Picking three consecutive times in the first round would be pretty incredible, gives us a chance to draft positional needs really quickly, or trade 2/3 of them to move up. Perhaps all three gets you in the top three picks? Or could be moved for a serious upgrade; Barkov?
Maybe others feel differently, but I personally have zero interest in Palmieri as part of a Gaudreau return. Isn't the whole reason for trading Johnny because we think he will go UFA? Why bring in a guy on a 1 year deal as part of the return? Another east coast guy as well.

I know you also included the picks, which would be nice, but they aren't getting you into the top 3 and they sure as heck aren't getting you Barkov.

Preds would consider moving a centre.

Mild interest in Johansen if some money was retained but I don’t really see a fit there unless they take a Hanifin package or possibly a one for one swap for Backlund?

Probably makes more sense for a team like the Wild or Jets
Johansen is weird; he always seems to be highly-touted but any time I see him play, I'm pretty underwhelmed.
He might be a nice addition, but I'm not sure he's worth the cost to acquire him.

Lol I for one hope they spend big on Skjei (though i think Carolina would probably get rid of him for cheap.) He's a defenseman that's supposed to be good a defense, but isn't actually.

Yeah that doesn't seem like good value for a Johnny trade. If anything, you deal Johnny elsewhere and then flip one of the picks in the return for the one year of Palmieri.

that 10 degrees and rainy is way worse than -10 and snowy, just FYI. Lived there for 5 years. The wet cold is the WORST

Kadri himself said it was not not wanting to come to Calgary but not wanting to leave TO

nice to see Vancouver still a top destinations for Star players.

as far as Ekman-Larsson.. he would be an amazing add. easily ticks off all the things the Canucks are looking to upgrade on D.

You guys are going to love him in a year when you have to pay Hughes and Pettersson.

Yeah it was a strategic play. Flames were an obvious candidate for a D for Kadri trade with Toronto.

Sounds like Laine played his last game as a Jet. So glad we got Tkachuk in that draft.

Think this is actually bad for the Flames if they are shopping Gaudreau.

Think Laine becomes the most sought after winger on the market if he's available.

Bennett eviscerated the Jets this year in the play-in, and they are desperately looking for a potential 2C with snarl.

Im not deluded enough to believe that Bennett has enough value alone, but perhaps the Jets could be fooled into thinking he's good enough as a main part of the return.

Bennett+ Hanifin+ 1st 2020 for Laine.

I agree Laine becomes the top target out there which could hold up a potential Gaudreau deal

I think Laine is going to be a tough deal to actually happen until there is more of a pinch point (next off-season). I anticipate a large gap between what the Jets want and what teams would pay that will be hard to bridge.
Same might be true for Johnny but the pinch point is already coming.

Insider trading:

Habs are willing to move 16th OA pick
looking for a top 6 forward in return
Not sure if there is a match right now

OEL has only two teams on his list: BOS and VAN
Armstrong is being pressued into retaining salary or taking back a bad contract

CBJ listening on both their goalies
Willing to move one of them if they can get a top 6 forward in return

SJS looking for a 1B goalie
Targets: Reimer, Dubnyk, Holtby

Stars want to re-sign Khoudobin

Yall will balk at me but I would 100 percent trade Mangiapane for Korpisalo. In a heartbeat.
