I can feel it. We're getting OEL & Kuemper. Brace yourselves. Hold your loved ones close. Clutch whatever object brings you comfort.

I just hope the draft comes and goes with no flames trades at this point.

I really hope it is the Oilers that make the move. Nurse, 14th overall, Puljujarvi for Kuemper and OEL
The Edmonton can have McDavid, Draisaitl and OEL take up 36% of their cap with garbage contracts like Neal, Kassian, and Russel taking up an additional 17% of their cap.
53% of their cap on 6 players 3 of which are bottom 6/bottom pairing guys

Ya man. At this stage, with the kind of rumours floating around, I can't tell if I am more anxious of the moves coming as much as I am the possibility of no moves...

Honestly if they trade a first round pick, in what people are calling one of the deepest drafts since 2003, for Darcy Kuemper then just fire Treliving on the spot.
Would just be idiotic asset management.

Especially when any of the following guys are available for free on the open market:
Markstrom
Talbot
Lehner, maybe
Khudobin
Greiss
Holtby
Crawford
Lundqvist

Has everyone forgotten it was reported that Snow vetoed a trade involving Ristolainen due to analytics by Bruke a while back?
I find it hard to believe we will pick him up now.

I could maybe stomach that if the rights for Hall was thrown in. However I'm concerned about organizational depth catching up to this organization as Treliving has traded so many high draft picks over his tenure that there just isn't any young elite talent in the pipeline.

Is Boomer advocating for the Flames to trade the 1st for Kuemper or saying that it will happen?

21. Calgary is checking in on every available goalie. I think the Flames talked with Columbus, too, but that’s cooled down. Depending on what’s available, they could do a big revamp of their blue line. When talking about Taylor Hall with New Jersey, Noah Hanifin’s name was discussed.

Do not trade the 1st pick please. But I do see Hanifin being shopped around.

I am with you there. If Hall’s rights are included and the Flames work out a deal before the draft then there is a 90% chance that Gaudreau would be flipped to a team with a 1st coming back so they would still be drafting in the first round just not with their pick.
The Flames only lack a 1st round pick from 2018 as they recouped a 2015 1st (Hanifin) in the second Dougie trade

I could see them trading their 1st for Kuemper but then getting a different 1st in a Hanifin trade. Like the Devils for example, who have the 18th and 20th overall picks.
18th OA plus something else.
If they traded Hanifin like that, I'd rather they just keep their pick and sign a UFA goalie though and then pick twice in the 1st round.

I'd like to see a mock up of the Flames defense if they move Hanifin. Gio+Andersson+Stockton?

I don't understand why so many people think trading pick #19 for Kuemper is such a terrible idea. Do you all not remember the last time a draft was hyped like this? Picks 17-22 were Lazar, Mueller, Rychel, Mantha ad Gauthier. mid-late first round picks are ridiculously overrated by people.

This team has not picked in the 2nd since 2016 and no first in 2018. This team needs prospects coming so keeping your first is critical when you have a fairly empty cupboard like the Flames.

But picks 17-22 could just as easily be Parise, Getzlaf, Burns, Fehr, Stuart
or more recently 16-25 in 2015 went:
Barzal, Connor, Chabot, Evgeny Svechnikov, Eriksson Ek, White, Samsonov, Boeser, Konecny, Roslovic.
Either way, there are plenty of extremely valuable players that have historically and recently been picked in that part of the draft.
