So.... the Flames should definitely sign Pat Maroon this summer, right?

4 of the past 5 cups have been won by goaltenders who are 26 or younger.
Also, all of the past 5 cup winning teams had a star Russian player.

Don't even remember that the game was on tonight, the first time in my adult life that I haven't watched a Stanley Cup final game where it was handed out.

Can someone post this? Doc is great.
Watching the interviews the Bolts players are a very likeable group.

Doc’s style really isn’t my cup of tea but he sure seems like a good guy.

I guess?
Would you rather have seen Edmonton or Vancouver win the Cup for example?
I'm way happier seeing Calgarian Brayden Point dominate for an American team than any other Canadian team win after the Flames were no longer an option.

Every Cup-winning goalie since 2012 was drafted by the winning team.
Every Cup-winning goalie since 2009 was playing for the first and only team he ever played NHL games for.
JS Giguere is the only Cup-winning goalie since 2006 who didn't play his first NHL game for the team he won the Cup with.

That's pretty interesting. Than again Edmonton had 4 of those picks and Toronto had one, so that pretty much disqualified half of them. I would agree that MacKinnon has the best shot at it for sure. I wouldn't rule out the two guys from New Jersey yet if they can add something decent in this draft, and maybe one more good draft.

I actually can’t stand any of the other Canadian teams so I do not understand this mindset at all. Ottawa is kinda the only one I could maybe kind of get on board with a little bit..... kinda?
Could you imagine the agony if Toronto won? Edmonton? Vancouver? Oh my god. Jesus take the wheel.

Florida and Buffalo had one each too, so yeah, it's not surprising we haven't seen a winner yet. New Jersey still has a long runway ahead of them for their first-overalls, so they're next most-likely after Colorado.
The other teams likely require a full top-to-bottom overhaul similar to what happened in Chicago after Bill Wurtz died if they hope to have any chance.

I’d say the Rangers after they get Lafreniere are going to have a really great shot at winning now...

Yup
That’s why I cringe every time someone here pleads for the flames to sign a UFA goalie. MAF etc ... totally pointless.
Draft your own (Vernon)
Pick a diamond in the rough with insider beta (kiprusoff)
That’s all folks

Hedman won the Conn Smythe with votes 9-8-1 and Point finished 8-8-2.
