If any of those 4 drops to us I'd be stoked. Not sure on my preference/order of them though

Draft Dynasty's channel just released his 11-20 ranking for the draft. I've been following his assessments all year and find him quite insightful in his evaluations of players. He includes a couple players that aren't in the consensus for this range with some super interesting takes. |
I like the way that he lays out his choices. Jacob Perrault and Lucas Reichel might have jumped slightly in my estimation due to his analysis.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Quinn fall. He was mere days shy of last year's draft, where he probably would have been a mid round pick at best. So was his 40 goal pop due to true progression or physical maturity.
If he goes in the top 12, I think the team could regret it. After 15 probably decent value.
Lots of boom/bust types in this draft.

I appreciated the red flags over guys like Wallinder. The comment from the scout that big guys who can skate but aren’t great at hockey otherwise are often being picked too early rang true.

Loved this. Definitely a list of Bust or Boom guys.

Personally I feel Foerster is the biggest potential steal, not sure why, just a feeling. Really hope the Flames grab him if only the guys on this list are there at 19 (and I think that's viable)

Gunler I think the Oilers grab and doesn't pan out as a reliable NHLer. I see a more productive Yamamoto in his first year (which to be honest will be next year if the Oilers take him). But then he drops off into mediocrity. Too many Laine one-dimensional comparisons. So basically he scores a bunch of goals but that line's atrocious in their own end. (In other words, Oilers continue to Oil)

The rest I agree with could go either way.

I don't know why, because I don't know many of these players but I really want the Flames to take the chance on Lapierre. seems like without the injury concerns the guy would be a locked and loaded top ten pick and I think the flames should take a shot. Barzal was another guy that was projected in the top 5-10 and dropped and has since showed that was a mistake. I just think Lapierre could be in the same situation. Obviously lots of risk with concussions but if you hit on him, that is huge especially for a team with eyes on competing.

I'm nervous about Lapierre but interested as well. The one on the list I most desperately hope falls is Lundell. I think there's very little to no chance that he's available at 19 but if he does fall for some reason that should be our guy.

Lowest I've seen for Lundell is 16/17 which starts to get close, but I would be stunned if he gets to 19.

My top candidates for big drops are:
Jack Quinn, Connor Zary, Jeremie Poirier and Askarov
I also think that Perfetti could drop out of the top 10 and slide to 11/12.

Risers:
Sanderson goes top 8
Schneider goes top 15
Marat Khusnotdinov goes top 20.

Hey, if Quinn fell to CGY, that'd be awesome. That guy has all sorts of top end finishing skills. Don't care about skating so much, doesn't look nearly as wonky as chucky did. Quinns a dream scenario for the Flames.
I dont like Lapierre so much. Theres a guy who's disappeared for stretches.

And any D man ranked top 40 could go top 15-20 IMO. With the sparceness at the top, there could be a real run on D men.

Has anybody seen a compiled weighted ranking list of prospects?Usually one floating around every years showing the ranks from a dozen sources to average out expected draft position.

He's yet another smallish guy who has good passing skills and edgework but not good speed.

This has become a real skating league so I'd like some speed drafted. More like Dube, please. Even if they don't end up producing, they can play roles like Reider. A slower player who gets by in junior with good stickhandling and passing etc. ends to be easier to defend and more one dimensional up in the NHL.

Those Flames.com drafts are pretty awful. I don't think those guys have much clue about the players they are writing about.
Or maybe this just irritated me....

"3. Ottawa Senators (via San Jose) - Tim Stützle - LW - Adler Mannheim (DEL)

According to prospect guru Corey Pronman over at The Athletic, it was a "coin flip" on whether the Kings would take Byfield or Stützle with the second pick. So, with Byfield off to La La Land, the Senators are thrilled to bat 'clean-up' and select "

Um no. 3rd isn't clean-up. Why are you using a baseball cliche in a hockey draft. And if you are going to do it - get it right.

Based on what I’ve read, I’m a fan of taking a risk on Lapierre or if that can’t happen, Gunler is my next choice.

Agree with your sentiment that he is echoing what he is hearing but I sometimes wonder if scouts are just trolling him cause they know he likes to be “the smartest guy in the room”.
 |
Craig Button is seen scouting regularity, I would bet he has a lot more looks than a couple pro scouts have on some players

I find it actually surprising how little looks some scouts actually have
