It's crazy. Guys cant hit the green from the middle of the fairway. Bryson now has a share of the lead.

I like Bryson. He is interesting to watch and so much different from a conventional golfer.

Bryson, after taking 3 hours over the ball: "Hey! I need a rules official, my ball is near some fire ants and is 1/1,000,000 of an inch too close to a sprinkler head, I want relief"

Reed: "Dude, just cheat. I would"

I mean the sadistic part of me wishes there was a little light rain today, we'd probably see guys shooting in the 90s. I also wouldn't say Hadwin or Connors are remotely safe, you can double or triple bogey any hole right now.

Two hours less daylight than when the tournament normally is held. The USGA can't make the course too brutal prior to the cut or they won't get everyone through in the daylight.

Too bad there wasn't a full New York Gallery to get Reed and and Bryson for the weekend. That might be more fun than the tourney.

No gallery is one of the benefits of COVID.

New York golf fans are the worst.

Without galleries we’re not gong to see near the pressure coming down the stretch of this tournament. Too bad, because i like the idea of crowning a champion based in part on how they handle it under the toughest conditions.

I'm kinda torn about the crowd, yeah it definitely adds a different layer of pressure on the players, but the course is now in it's most brutal state because there are no breaks from the rough with fans trampling down areas they've walked through, or even offering targets for the players to aim at for shot shaping. It's really the purest test of the golf course there can be.

I just want to see how Reed and Bryson hold up to being heckled by a New York crowd. I expect Dechambeau would be entertaining as hell as once he reached his breaking point with banter, he could body slam somoene.

As great as a crowd is for adding that pressure, it's all offset by "get in the hole!" being yelled eleventy billion times.

But I do miss the Baba Booey's. Also, I totally didn't realize FOX has given up the USGA rights, so that's also good.
